great idea Smiley

Governor Hugh Bartlett of Iowa, aged 61

L: 4
C: 3
I: 3
S: 4
E: 5
D: 3
IK: 3

My VP's attribute is Charisma, and her name is Paula O'Brien, I'd like them to be from Maryland, I think that is heavy enough Democrat, but Hawaii would be OK. Ideally they'd be from Florida, but I think that is a bit unfair.

My positions (I am uninformed on some of the issues, like affirmative actioan and education, as the australian system is very different, but i've basically domne what i thought was right):

Abortion: Centrist
Affirmative Action: CL
Balanced Budget: In Australia I am center left-increase spending, but more efficiently. But as I am opposed to military spending increases, I'll say centrist.
Business Tax: CL
CFR: Faaaaaar left
Ecology: Centrist
Education: Centrist
Free Trade: Centrist
Gun Control: CL
Same-Sex Marriage: CL
Immigration: Left
Military Funding: CL
Military Intervention: CL. You would have to be insane to argue against me on that issue, I will tear your head off Wink
Personal Tax: CL (Hey, I'm a leftwinger)
PHC: Left. It works here, I could get it to work there if  was president Wink
Renewable energy: CL
Social Security: I'm not sure of the current situation in the US, so Centrist.
Terrorism: Centrist

Just clarifying, I would like my VP to be from Florida, be OK with her being from MD, and put up with her being from Hawaii

I played as an independent, didn't move out of the state of  Kansas and switched every position I had the day of the election. Whilst these aren't the official result, here is the final score of that game:

Bush: 323
Finn: 215
Me: 0

he won California by 3% Sad

You won Florida by the same margin, and spent the last day in FL (he was in CA)

With Ca, you would have won 270-268 Smiley

you won by about 8%, i think.

You were wuinning in FL and CA until the last poll, he was winning in TX until election day Smiley

I basically sat you in TX for the last three days, and Jeb in NM. payed off, without both of them you'd've lost...

Regionalism can be a double-edged sword...it won me the southwest and helped signifcantly in the south, but lost me the inner midwest-including Illinois!

Wallnofer: 215 (59,462,194 (47%))
Bartlett: 323 (65,078,176 (52%))

Close states (within 5%)

Virginia-Bartlett by 4.9%
South Carolina-Bartlett by 4.8%
Florida-bartlett by 4.5%
Nevada-Bartlett by 2.3%
Tennessee-Bartlett by 1.3%
New Mexico-Bartlett by 0.9%
Minnesota-Bartlett by 0.3%

Illinois-Wallnofer by 0.9%
ohio-Wallnofer by 1.3%
Mississippi-Wallnofer by 1.7%
Indiana-Wallnofer by 2.3%
Arkansas-Wallnofer by 3.1%
Oklahoma-Wallnofer by 3.5%
Wisconsin-Wallnofer by 4.9%

It was a very close election, but momentum went my way on the last day Smiley

Let's see how you did, SR Smiley
