Why not? That will improve her chances of being elected. She can always back down on that promise later, if she feels like it.

Because it would make her an immediate lame duck, and would change few if any votes anyway.

Never Trump Pubs come to mind.
They can suffer her for one term, but not two.
And neverTrumpers are all she has left. She is losing the working class anyway.

She doesn't need to "improve her chances of being elected."
Her chances are pretty-damn-good now.

Regardless of how good your chances are, you always want to make them better, particularly if it will cost you nothing.

No, think about your signature.  Mitch McConnell, the very next day after this happens: "Senate Republicans will do everything we can to ensure that no action will be taken on any presidential appointments to the Supreme Court until 2021."

They might not be in position to prevent that is the Dems win back the Senate.

This would accomplish nothing and would worsen the partisan gridlock if anything. Just stall four more years would be the GOP's plan.

Otherwise, stall eight more years would be the GOP's plan.
