The fact that he is not trailing is not nearly as scarry for Dems as the fact that he can't get higher then 41% and is even tied with Independent Goode. Perriello will likely lose.

It's registered voters, not likely voters.

Either way, Perriello is going down this year.

God damn, your rationalization for why every Dem-friendly poll is wrong is as annoying as Democrats chirping "Rasmussen effect!" and randomly assigning bonus points to Dem candidates.

Put a likely voter screen on the poll, he is losing. Do you doubt that?

Also, 70% have no idea who Hunt is, and he's tied. He has nowhere to go but up.

It's not Hunt, it's Hurt--his name is Rob Hurt.

Okay, that basically reaffirms my point that nobody has any idea who he is and yet he is tied with a sitting congressman.

Hurt isn't the ones who's tied with Perriello. Virgil Goode (the previous Representative of this district until Perriello beat him in 2008) is the one who is tied with Perriello.

He is talking about the top matchup. Not the second one.

Has Goode even so much as hinted at running as an indy?

Umm

Tom Perriello (D-inc): 44
Robert Hurt (R): 44
Undecided: 13

Does 44 not equal 44?

This is the poll I was looking at (the one that Lief originally posted):

http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/02/virginia-5-poll.html
    Tom Perriello (D-inc): 41
    Robert Hurt (R): 12
    Virgil Goode (I): 41
    Undecided: 6

Is Goode even considering running at all?
