I am informed that the election is the weekend after next. So, non-RPPers, it is time to come and sit on Santa's lap. Smiley

I'd be very honored to receive the RPP's endorsement in the upcoming At-Large Senate election.

Even though I realize it's highly unlikely that I'll get it

Actually, I am quite sure you will get it. What you should be doubting is its value. Tongue

The declaration period is over. Endorsement vote starts tomorrow.

All endorsements are of great value to me Tongue

That is probably the best approach to take. Determining the value of an endorsement requires calculation too many factors from party turnout to number of candidates of each party and a number of other factors as well.

[ 1 ] 20RP12
[ 2 ] Write-in: Teddy  - He can decide later.

Actually I don't even know if write-ins are allowed under the current text. Tongue

Results of the Endorsement Vote:

[1-2]Junkie
[1-2]TJ in Cleve
[3] 20RP12
[4] Teddy

20RP12 has received endorsement by the RPP for the highest non-RPP preference. Teddy has been endorsed by the RPP for it's second highest non-RPP preference.

Also, the 2 dozen or so who didn't bother to vote, are endorsed for my wrath, and school work is hereby endorsed as a major pain in the ass. Tongue

The specific party would be mentioned in the actual motion itself.

My original plan was to hold a vote over the weekend. Then I remembered New Years.

Traditionally, Monday is a slow day as well. I think starting it tomorrow night would be best if there are no other concerns about the text.

When would the dissolution go into effect? Immediately? Feb 1? March?

some details we should figure out Wink

How many times do I have to explain this crap. We aren't voting on dissolution here, we are voting on the bylaw creating the process. The motion for dissolution would contain such details.

We can blame my school for losing the night of the second and Iowa the night of the third. Tongue

Without further delay, lets go...

I am pretty sure the last three voters are fashionably late. Tongue

If I don't have time tonight, I will calculate the results tomorrow. The result should be pretty obvious though. Tongue

Nay (0):

Abstain (1): NC Yankee

Voted after time elapsed (2): Cathcon and Inks

Voted a second time after time elapsed: AHDuke99 Huh Tongue

The bylaw has passed. I think we should require a quorum of 50% from now on. Not to make it so this wouldn't have passed, but to ensure that we (reads I, Tongue) contact that right people sooner then end of day two to drive turnout. Wink

That would be illegal under the bylaw we just passed. Tongue

We've been talking about this forever now. Just do it already!

Would you rather we rush it, mess it up, and thus cause it to fail because it was messed up.

Hey, now that's an idea. Evil

Based on the comments I have read and the feedback I have seen, the composition of that motion will have an impact on the support it receives. I would rather loose a day or two to ensure that it is right, then have to spend a week voting on a false start and have to start all over again (the bylaw only works once, remember). There is no margin for error here. My caution is justified.

Just for emphasis, THE BYLAW ONLY WORKS ONCE!  There won't be a second motion if it is messed up. The bylaw would have to be re-passed.

And as I stated bgwah, most of that two months was lost because supporters of this idea of yours couldn't be bothered to respond to my questions and discussion of the bylaw in a timely fashion.

Every step of the way in this process I have been met with laziness and general ignorance of even what your initial proposal contained, BY ALLEGED SUPPORTERS!!! Don't lecture me on the timeliness of this process.

I didn't answer questions because I DIDNT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT GETTING THINGS MOVING. if we are using allcaps.

What? I was talking to bgwah. I have been trying to get people to review the motion you wrote and get feedback on it, if you haven't noticed. The only reason I used caps on a few words in two different posts IN RESPONSE TO BGWAH (Tongue) is because I am sick of people operating in this movement on partial, incomplete, and incorrect information.
