A smashing landslide victory. I am very pleased.

Thanks buddy Wink

I have the utmost confidence in Franzl. Smiley

And what a civil campaign we conducted. It would be nice if Atlasian politics was always like that.

You'll of course be getting an AYE from me for your confirmation, which you probably already guessed Wink

Congrats Franzl. I hope you find the Senate an enjoyable experience and I wish you the best of luck.

A very interesting election. Its a shame I have been to busy on real-life matters to focus any time on this part of the forum. Thats about to change. Shame to see SPC go, he was one of my favorites as well.

Just so you know I am listed as RPP on the official ballot, not PCP.

Earl has Xahar being eliminated in the final round in his tracker. Since he is the SoFA I would imagine he knows how to do it. It however hasn't been updated to reflect Deldem. So Xahar might have more first preferences now compared to GPorter.

Considering who has second preferenced me I would assume that either way, I would get enough from either to win as it currently stands.

Yes, but I note you're down as PCP on the Registered Voter Roll.
Is the designation on the ballot a deliberate decision on your part, or some form of oversight?

I am not sure if it was a mistake on Earls part or not. But it was the intent that the DS RPPers retain the name RPP. Whether that was ever made official or not, I don't know.

The closeness of the Southeast in the final round is pretty astounding.

PiT did better in the Mideast than in the Southeast.  Very surprising.

The second time that occured I think. Last time it was all the DAer's supporting him. This time its because of Hamilton moving all those people from the Pacific to the ME.

We are not bound to any one system of government, despite how often people say we're modified after the United States. We only are insofar as we live on the same landmass, but plenty is different and we're free to change things as we please.

The point is, the current ratification scheme is grossly anti-democratic. There is no excuse for an amendment with 60%+ support that fails just because of a few strategically targeted votes. Regions do nothing but warp representation and ratification.
The constitution being changed should require well over 60% support

67%-75% at least. Since you can't split a region. That comes to 4/5's of the Regions.

Marokai. Don't you think you are going just a little to far. Are you cracking up or something.

No, I'm just frustrated that no one can find it in them to discuss the actual Amendment and instead try to find some sinister motive behind it.

The kicker is we're not even really removing regions from the process, since it still requires 3/5. All this compromise version essentially does is remove the ability for one region to stand in the way and a narrow vote in another region to block passage of an otherwise solidly popular initiative.

Politics is frustration.

In the past when activity was almost dead there were instances when if a person didn't move to take a seat it would have been vacant. Well it doesn't seem possible now, we shouldn't constrict ourselves just in case.

Jas did you mistake the NE with ME in your analysis. Evry RPPer who turned out in the NE voted No.

lol that it didn't even reach 50% and Marokai though this would be a moral victory cause it had so many supporters at the beginning in the nationwide percentage.

I see dc_troll got PiT to vote for Mint since if he didn't she wouldn't be his friend anymore! Roll Eyes

It doesn't effect the overall result, so it doesn't matter, so I don't really give a damn about it.

First, don't insult my friends. Angry

Second, Mint coming in first would be a huge moral victory, if you look at which Senator's seat he'd be taking.

Yes, thats true, he is taking Marokai's seat. How ironic. Who's is Duke taking, Franzl's, or Rowan's.

Lol, Hamilton is attacking me through AIM. lol

I actually think he might have been banned. Dave hasn't said anything but Hamilton also hasn't posted today and thus is behind by about 200 posts.

We can only pray that is the case.

I think he'll probably be taking Franzl's seat, which means badger would take Rowan's seat.

I have been fascinated by the way the STV seat allocation works for some time. I still don't care much for the At-large seats as a whole though. Just found that tidbit about them slightly interesting.

Ahem.  The way I see it, Badger is taking Marokai's seat, Duke is taking Rowan's seat, and Mint is taking Franzl's seat.

Is there some rhyme or reason, or method behind the madness to this?

I've been deeply interested in the partisan breakdown of the Senate ever since the Senate History page was updated to include it. Grin

oh, my guilty pleasure. spending hours in front of history pages on the wiki both for Atlasia and the US.

I think so. He hasn't tried post it yet and so far 9 mods have voted permaban. Eventually Dave will get tired with him and ban him. Will be a glorious day.

We can only pray!

So because you people disagree with someone, it would be a "glorious day" to see them banned from an internet forum?

Its much more than that, trust me. I disagree with Marokai much more then Hamilton, but do you see me calling for his head? I actually agree with Hamilton on a lot of stuff. It has nothing to do with disagreeing.

The populares? Oh yes, I remember now. Weren't they a political party?

Seriously, we are not far from that point, and it ain't like I haven't tried to warn them. Tongue

No time left for you....you need not wonder why.

Such a great song.

Gah. Someone should have sent me a PM if we were having elections.

Why, you sound like a zombie voter!!11

Ah, but you assume that I care.

If it makes you feel any better, even I kind of slipped up this time around on the GOTV efforts. Tongue

It sounds like you wish they kept recruiting zombies...

Not intending to speak for Yankee, but I myself do not wish that they would recruit zombies. I do, however, wish that they would recruit new members. Smiley

I know... Just that the likelihood of a new populares member to be a zombie is quite high.

Are the populares the only ones with zombies? Are they the only ones with sh**tty incompetent officeholders? The honest answer to both is NO and NO.

Of course not. But you can't deny that a disproportionate share of zombie voters and incompetent officeholders are from the Populares.

You remind me of some of the racist hicks around here who claim that the disproportionate number of hispanics are illegals and blacks are criminals. Unless you have a done an intense qunatiative analysis, I insist you cease and disist in your prejudices. Tongue

Actually, Antonio is one of those few people, who experienced this problem personally, so there are not "his prejudices".

I was just saying that is what his statement reminded me of. Tongue
