Sounds good. Unfortunately this probably does not matter much because Massachusetts is full of liberal Republicans.

The beauty of nominating moderates is that Liberal Republicans will come out and vote for them. Wink. Plus they have likely been in the party for generations and only vote Dem, now, because you guys turned it into the party of Jefferson Davis. Tongue. The GOP was once so strong in MA that it could elect Conservatives from time to time like Calvin Coolidge.

Is it just me or is a 48/51 approve/disapprove rating surprisingly favorable for someone with such crappy poll numbers?

Those are the Favorable numbers not the Approvals. According to the poll only 42% approve of the Job Patrick is doing and 57% Disapprove.
