Iam sorry but those who said Palin was not the cause of McCains loss need to think again.

so McCain would have won if he hadn't picked Sarah Palin...despite Bush, and despite 5.5 year war in Iraq, and despite the 7 year war in Afghanistan, and despite the deepening recession, and despite the record deficits, and despite $4/gallon gas, and despite printing 2,000,000,000,000.00 in new currency in the last two months alone to fend off nearly losing our banking system for the first time since 1930's...John McCain would have been the next president of the US and extended the GOP current run to 3 consecutive terms?

RIGHT!

Yes, remember Obama was fading right after the Rep convention.

3 things happened

The melt down on wallstreet

Palins interview ... and we know how that went.

McCain seeming to punk out on the debate, only to show up and lose to a inexperience rookie.

Those things did him.   Look had McCain picked a more able Vp, he could have kept his experience card.  By Picking Palin he made the Obama- Biden ticket look like the safe haven.

Guys, this was on O'Reilly. He's been vigorously defending Palin since the nomination. Gotta love his reaction to Cameron telling him about Palin thinking that Africa was a country. He said something to the tune of "Well, that's stuff you can learn, surely it had to be about more than that". How can someone trivialize someone not knowing that Africa is a continent?? That's something I could accept an 8 year old thinking, not someone running for VP of the most powerful nation on earth.

Bill OReilly while not as hackish as Hannity he's clearly partisan, and leans to the right.

I have noticed how he defends Palin like a hawk.  If Palin can attack Obama like a pitbull with lipstick, then shes fair game for the Obama camp to attack her when she clearly shows her lack of knowledge.
Biden wanted to rip into her during that debate, but had to stick to the game plan.
Iam enjoying every minute of this actually.

By the way.... I learned that Africa was a continent in the 3rd grade LOL

With regards to whether or not Palin did McCain in, the economy and the Bush record did them in. There is likely no way any Republican could have fared much better against this environment/Obama. Maybe Palin cost McCain a point or two; who knows? Either way, I do not think it's fair for anybody to try to blame this loss on Palin because it was McCain's pick, not Palin's pick. I actually feel a tad bad for her and hope she continues to stick to Alaskan politics.

I disagree.

It took McCain strongest weapon off the table.

If you can't pin Obama as a inexperienced rookie during hard times, what more do you have?

I know many of you are smart enough to point out that during hard times as a country we have took chances FDR and Reagan come to mind.  I think this election was different, had Obama looked weak during the meltdown and didn't proform during those debates, its good chance he would have lost.

Just think maybe Reagan wouldn't have beat Carter until that debate 4 days before the election.

The point Iam making is that in some elections there are "tipping points" that sometimes decide the outcome. Eventhough I said McCain would win ( Just because I couldn't bet against 43 white presidents) ,however  I saw Obamas lead in the polls stabilize, and knew that it was turning into a route IF race wasn't a factor.

I feel like every one of your posts involves race somehow.

I have always felt Obama SHOULD have won, I just was not going to bet against the past 200 years of white presidents.. nothing racial about it.

Just fact.

Sorry if iam honest in my views.

I hope the gop is stupid enough to run this woman in 2012 for President Obama to win 530 EVs and put the final nail in the coffin.

Palin 2012 Iam on the wagon.

I can't view the clip from where I am, but I'm guessing it's the bit about Chris claiming he thinks it's his duty to help Obama succeed. I've heard Bill O'Reilley say many times that Matthews can say what he wants because he's not a "journalist" as you say but a "commentator." In fact, he gave him credit for being honest about it. I must say I agree with that sentiment.

I agree, but I have more of a problem with Keith Olbermann.  He presents his show as a news program and I've never seen him offer an opposing viewpoint?  Has he ever?  Then every once in a while, he'll presents a "Special Comment" which is obvious commentary, but exascerbates the idea that the preceding 55 minutes of what was just aired was "news".

on O'Reilly, for example, the liberal guests are generally strawmen and it's obvious who's supposed to be right and who's supposed to be wrong to his audience. It's really the same as Olbermann, just with more shouting.

Thought I was the only one who noticed that.

Who cares? Even if it was true, this is the kind of thing people hate liberals for. No one cares about Africa. Her ignorance just makes her seem more genuine.

I agree most liberals are jerks, but I hate the way the McCain camp attempted to use her.

So yeah I wanna see her fail, now that McCain is already finished.
