The issue of regions v. federal government is not a black and white issue by any stretch. I have by and large supported the expansion of federal powers (I supported the 22nd Amendment which gave new powers to the Senate, and have generally supported increased commerce regulation). I have voted against this Amendment because I feel it is transferring control of social issues away from the people, which I have long believed belong with the People in order to increase participation at the grass roots level.
