It sounds to me like we have one nutty politician (Blair), one disgruntled artist (Wall), and a media who connected the two and ran with it.

The principal and superintendant are allowing the artist to return the mural to its original "color".

Apparently, the principal was lying when he said the original change had nothing to do with political pressure.
