First precincts are up on boston.com.

At last. The map now appears on the main page too.

Anyway Brown leads by just 5 points now.

Coakley from Obama:

Ashland: -31.14%

Holland town: -36.75%

Monroe town (tiny): -33.09%

Middleton: -31.28%

Oxford: -39.52%

These are not sustainable numbers.  The only caveat is that we have nothing from the Boston metro yet.  They are consistent with a win of 5% to 10%, maybe a tick more.

What was Obama's percentage win in Mass as a whole, which we subtract from these numbers to get a projected margin in this race?

Obama won Massachusetts 62 to 36.

Coakley won 57% in her hometown of Medford, in suburban Boston. Brown got 42%.

There are a LOT of Brown towns that haven't even begun to report.  I mean, my god, the most Republican part of the most Republican county is still out.

What are you referring to specifically for those of us who don't have a map of MA memorized? Tongue

I guess somewhere in Plymouth County.

Despite Scott Brown's victory, I don't think so.

Thanks, I am surprised at the amount of districts Brown 'carried'. Could the GOP realistically gain a house seat in Mass?

I doubt it, at least as the representatives stand now.

Here are Boston's precinct results, so cinyc can finish the CD data for MA-8 and MA-9.

Wow, Brown only got 3.98% in Ward 14.
What's up with this area?

Brown improved on McCain's 1.76% in Ward 14.  It's the most Democrat-leaning ward in Boston.  I think it's North Dorchester and Mattapan.

The white population in North Dorchester has been in decline for decades.  Mattapan is heavily African American.

I thought that Roxbury was the most Democratic part of Boston...then again it is right next door to Dorchester and Mattapan.
