Better than the other polls we've been getting... which are non-existant.

I think far more "NDP supporters" back Mulcair (heavily) but far more "NDP members" (very heavily) back Topp

Source? That's not the impression I get when I speak and have spoken to NDP members.

I'm a member of the NDP, but that doesn't answer why you think more members support Topp and more non-member supporters are behind Mulcair.

No.

I love the words he has for the Bloc, though.

Iirc, the people at the Mulcair event I attended back in November weren't buying what Topp was selling, and were more open to Nash and Dewar... then again, this was a small-ish event in downtown Toronto, which might explain it. Still. Anecdotal.

"Underdog"? "Finally turned around"? That headline is totally incorrect. As are the temperament claims. After two consecutive weak and indecisive Liberal leaders, the center and left-wing voters in Canada will have a decisive and strong leader like Mulcair to look forward to.

Oh look, it's Boulerice and Boivin! They didn't seem to have a problem getting behind Mulcair back then when he was the only elected official in Quebec and was working to get them elected.

2. Nash
3. Dewar
4. Saganash
5. Ashton
6. Cullen
7. Singh
8. Topp

An aside - Hatman, since I have signatures turned off, whenever I see your posts, I think to myself "I don't remember posting that" until I realize... Smiley

Battery acid is a better alternative to Topp.

Honestly, the only ones that could change for me would be Saganash and Dewar... I only have Dewar above Saganash because he's from Ontario, and I just know more about him. But there are more debates left, so it might change.

Come on, the gun registry is such a non-starter, especially in today's environment.

If Mulcair is your first preference, it doesn't matter where you put Topp, of course.

Basically. I do have a feeling that Nash will finish second, though. I think if you put Topp in the second or third spot on my list and bump everyone else down one, that's the final placings I would predict right now too.

St. Maurice-Champlain should go back to white, as their MP crossed the floor to Liberals.

If she hated the party so much, why bother to make an endorsement? And why would she have supported Mulcair, who in all likelyhood would have been b*tchy to such a c*nt (I have heard he hasn't been that nice to a lot of MPs)

Sorry for the language, but I'm not too happy.

Let it go, there's nothing that can be done.

I'm a Mulcair guy. Get rid of the senate. We have enough lawmakers.

Angus' French isn't that great, either. Still, his endorsement might bump Dewar into my second place spot. Looking for Cash, and probably a few other northern NDP MPs to endorse Dewar in the future.

Can someone explain why it isn't a clear mistake to pick a candidate whose French is painful to listen to, whose rhetoric is full of middle-class-public-sector earnestness without any hint of working-class populism, and whose policies nevertheless lack any Mulcair-style centrist economics? I thought we learned in the 1990's that this combination didn't work so well.

No. I still fail to understand what people are finding good about Dewar. I would rank him 4th, for the moment.

He's not Topp; He's not Mulciar; and he's not Peggy Nash.

I like Mulcair and Nash though, and a lot of other voting NDP members do as well. If that's all he has...

We can vote at the convention? Then, I guess that's what I'll be doing. Anyone else here going?

Mmm, I don't think so. The Toronto Comic-con is the same day. Quality time with my boyfriend versus party convention. Tongue

Comic-con is in the burbs, to far for a non-driver like me.
OR you could do like me, get your NDP supportive boyfriend to finally take out a membership Smiley

Side bar... do you prefer comic-con over fan expo? been meaning to get my ass to one.

Comic-Con is in the Metro Toronto Convention Center this year, right across the street from the CN Tower. And last year it was in the Direct Energy Center. Nowhere near the burbs. Tongue Also my boyfriend's from California so no membership for him. Besides, he used to complain about me supporting the NDP and not the Liberals because they had "no chance" and the Liberals were "leftist"(I know, I know) until the NDP became the official opposition last May.

As for Fan Expo, I've never been. I live in Timmins during the summer, so I'm too far away for that.

Sorry Earl. Sad I could always dress up as Mulcair for the convention, though?

Yeah, he introduced him at a few of Mulcair's Toronto events. I saw him talk when I went to one, but I didn't speak to him directly. It took all my courage to actually have a conversation with Mulcair, himself.

William Molls, who was the NDP candidate for St. Paul's in the 2011 election was there as well. I think he said he was on his team? But I forget. It was a while ago.
