No. The GOP has blood on its hands in many, many ways. They are fully responsible for allowing events like this.

The terror watch list weapon ban would have been unconstitutional, as good of an idea as it is.

Would it, though? Felons can't buy guns, more or less, so what would be wrong with banning people on that list from purchasing firearms? Would the Heller decision have anything to do with this?

If we have people on watch lists, it really doesn't make sense to allow them to purchase guns. The only issue I have with it is that innocent people on the list would have a hassle, so maybe they should have tiers and only ban certain people on that list from owning firearms. Having a quick way to appeal your standing on the list would be good, too.
The problem wasn't putting people on "the List" on some kind of "no guns for you registry", the problem was that "the List" (listS really) was stupid, it was too easy to get on it, nearly impossible to get off of it.  "the List" was broken.

Let's not pretend like we are withholding necessities. We are withholding a weapon that is completely unnecessary for ordinary purposes and has many substitutes for its needed purposes.

Worst mass shooting in history, and all you people are saying is "Eh, coulda been worse"

Get over yourselves. If he wanted it to be worse, he would've made it worse under the current conditions.

Obama didnt mention radical Islam not once.  He talked about guns instead.   I swear i wonder is this president sympathetic to this faction of Muslims.

He didn't or couldn't utter the words " radical Islam" .. unbelievable.

Why does the right-wing throw such a hissy fit over a complete non-issue. Let the man do the job he was born to do. Any one of you doing it would mean the end of America..

I guess Obama doesn't watch the news. If he did he would know that the shooter pledged his allegiance to ISIS and had been on terror watch lists in the past. What the hell does he mean we don't know what motive, if any?  It couldn't be any more obvious.

Agreed, we need a President who throws out every rumour that the news wants to put out there as red meat. We should look into the JFK assassination again.

Shootings like this really, really hit home when it's your social community that is the victim of the attack.

I here you.  Way worse than corralling a six year old into a corner with their friends at school and shooting them in the face.

Would you shut up with your moron logic for once? I'd make a very serious personal attack here, but I don't want to get banned. People are dead. Twice as many as the situation you cite.

Take your own advice.

Free forum.  Doesn't matter to me whether someone is black, white, gay, Christian, Muslim, child, adult.  These incidents are horrific and I don't agree with what the previous poster said.  Difference from you is I don't need to use words like "moron" to express myself.

Then let me say it in a way that maybe even you can understand - hate crimes that target one's own kind rather than random mass killings will strike a chord within that community. They are being persecuted. The motive means someone could be after them next through no fault other than inherent qualities about them. They have to be on guard. All are horrific, but one is much more likely to attack you again.
