He's the MP for Falkirk. Headbutting a Tory can only increase his majority.

Miliband should keep him out of caucus until this is resolved by the courts. Assault is definitely not OK.

This is the UK, so it is.

Probably tried to keep Joyce to sock it to the Tories harder. Expel.

Unfortunately for Joyce it was one of the whips.

Because they are allowed to invite guests. Had Joyce started drinking just a few minutes before he did, then there would have been an international incident of sorts: a load of Canadian MPs (including their Speaker, I think) were there that day and left the room shortly before the... er... incident.

Even our MPs probably only know Stephen Harper from the Canadian HoC, never mind the rest as well...

So, Falkirk by-election then.

Wouldn't exactly be outside the realms of possibility. If the swing at the Inverclyde by election last year's applied here, it'd easily be an SNP win. I could see May 3rd as a likely date as it's local election day.

Would ScotsLab be a help or a hinderance in a by-election? I haven't really been following the Scottish party much lately. Unimpressed with what i've seen of Lamont.

Not like that's something I wouldn't do.
