    Seems to have broken with the elite consensus about the need/desirability of a high immigration policy.

         Lief to tie into what you are saying, his income tax proposal is much less flat, much more progressive (as in progressively higher rate the higher ones income) than your typical GOP tax reform proposal.  The rate structure could almost be a Dem one, though a Dem version would have higher rates on highest earners.
