Shouldn't Santorum do well on Eastern Shore too? From the map I can tell that if he runs up the score there and at the Appalachia then he can keep this close.
Probably, but there are still a lot of Dixiecrats there who can't cross over to vote in the Republican primary.
In 2008, the most populous counties on the Eastern Shore voted more strongly for McCain over Huckabee than the state as a whole. So I doubt it'll be a good region for Santorum.
Some of them did. But remember that McCain was a respected war hero who had no problem to connect with these kind of voters, not a country club millionaire flip floper from Massachusetts.
