Over 60,000 posts this month so far.  And over 3000 new topics.  Both are records.


This despite the forum design looking like something from the previous century (perhaps because it almost literally is) and despite the fact that the entire concept of online discussion boards peaked around 2005.

That's because this place is like a community now.  It's very unique on the internet.  Not many places like it.

Atlas is interesting in the sense that it attracts a steady stream of new users without becoming huge and unwieldy, but also enough not to become stagnant or die off. It's like the Goldilocks of internet communities.

Our many links on Wikipedia (on articles that are generally only read by political junkies) surely help.

The FBI news (and the usual variety of threads that spawn from it) might help to put us over 3000 again today. Need a bit over a 1000 to reach that number with more than seven hours (many of which are peak hours) to go.
