OOC: Now I have to figure out what to fight for beyond mere survival.  I have a large fighting force, but I mean really what more can I accomplish beyond killing Stannis to avenge Joffrey, Cersei, Jaime, and Tommon?  If Stannis and Renly die, then what?   Who am I saying is even King?  Joffrey dying instead of narrowly escaping certainly makes things infinitely harder   Decisions, decisions...

OOC: Daenerys is probably laughing her ass off at the whole situation.

So, basically, the Lannisters got served in more or less the same way the Starks were in "The Rains of Castamere". Just replace the four Stark kids with Tywin, Tyrion and Daven...

OCC: Don't forget Kevan, Stafford, and Damion Lannister!

OOC: And Myrcella, for what it's worth. So you're still not quite as screwed as we were, though the Lannister family seems to be much more numerous (thanks to the Mad King!).

Thanks   I am glad folks are enjoying GameTywin, he is an extremely fun character to write for.  To be compared to Dance's performance even as a joke is high praise, indeed!  Anyway, this is just the warm up act, the main show starts whenever Roose Bolton becomes important here  

OOC: Well, I'm not going to screw things up the way the real Robb did, so he should never become that "important". But I'd love to have you on my side helping me fight for Northern independence.

I have to say I actually like this scenario much better than what actually happened! The King in the North thing may be more than a vain dream in the end...


Also, I made this nice little map about military positions:



Circles indicate armies, triangles indicate fleets. Area is proportional to the number of ships/men. I had to guess a couple of exact positions, especially the clusterf**k around King's Landing. Some colors are quite self-explanatory, other than that it's yellow=Daenerys, light green=Renly, dark green=Tyrell, purple=Stannis, brown=Greyjoy, turquoise=Arryn, orange=Martell.

The North will pay its due to the Night's Watch, as it always has ever since the Long Night. Unlike the complacent Southerners, we have never forgotten the perils that await us beyond the wall, and know the price to pay for our common safety. I will make sure the Night's Watch has enough men to defend us against Mance and whatever other enemy awaits us.

OOC: It's not entirely clear what anyone wants to do. The Targaryens are allied with the Martells, the Tyrells, and the Greyjoys, the Greyjoys are aligned with the Starks, the Targaryens fight the Starks, the Starks fight the Lannisters, the Lannisters fight the Targaryens and Baratheons, nobody has any idea who the Lannisters want to see as King now, the Tyrells used to support the Baratheons but now support the Targaryens, the Greyjoys make off with Lord Tywin's treasury next turn, and nobody has any idea what Lysa Arryn is doing.

You will have the POV update shortly, this turn we have Brienne of Tarth in King's Landing, Catelyn Stark in Riverrun and Daenerys Targaryen in Storm's End. If I can't fit a certain detail in those three, we may have something regarding the Reach, but I make no promises.

Otherwise a Renly+Stannis alliance at the beginning of the book Clash of Kings would have ended things right there.

Tywin, Tyrion, Kevan and his sons (not sure how many of them are still around), and I have no idea if Tyrek is still alive.

OOC: I respect that, Dereich. But if you really want to go down that road be sure to do it well. I don't intend to go down without a fight, and I will seek revenge against every traitor.

On the other hand, I really don't get Bolton. In the real story, he only betrayed the Starks once it was clear they had no chance to win... But here, I gave him an army that outnumbered its opponents 2 to 1 and the war is still far from over. Are you sure he'd react that way, Lumine?

Anyway, I will be in San Francisco for the weeks to come, which means I'll have a limited amount of time to dedicate to this game. I'll still do everything i'll need to do to keep the game going and anwer my PMs, bit I won't be able to sustain long winded IC rants, so I will mostly speak OOC.

A proclaim to the Northmen

The North has been betrayed by one of his own. Roose Bolton, whom I sent out to suppress the Targaryen invasion, has turned against his northern brothers, and, spreading lies about my death, he has convinced his own men to bend the knee to the foreign invader. This treacherous coward is unworthy of the name Northerner. To any Lord, Knight, soldier or commoner who were to read these lines, I say, as the King you have chosen, that it is your sacred duty to fight for your liberty, to repel the invader and punish the traitor. Northmen, rise up! For as long as we will be united as a people, the flame of Northern independence shall never be extinguished!

You can talk in character or out of character, as you prefer. IC brings a lot of fun to the game (we'll have to publish some PMs after the game is over) but it can be quite time-consuming.
