I believe that centrists, libertarians and conservatives alike can form a grand alliance to wrest control our noble republic from liberals and social democrats. It is time to return powers not specifically delegated to the national government back to the regional governments. Tmthforu94 and I believe that this government needs a proper and honorable balance to the liberal agenda. We now stand hope to reach this country back from radical progressivism to a more thought approach to governance. With that I hereby endorse the Tmthforu94/Dallasfan65 ticket.

May God bless and keep Atlasia strong

For anyone from center on leftwards considering supporting this ticket, this is Exhibit 'A' why not to despite both members of the ticket being exceptionally nice guys.

Exhibit B:

I'm still waiting to see how things develop but the split amongst the Atlasian Left is certainly welcome news.

A)Uh, Why should this be the ticket we all decide to boycott if such a measure is necessary?
B)IRV

Whoa. Whoa! WHOA! WHOA!!!

In response to this post and some PMs I received about it, can I explain there is a MAJOR misunderstanding here.

1) By "this ticket" I was referring to the one Libertas 2 endorsed---Tmthforu and Dallasfan NOT Oakvale/Snowguy.

2) I was about to copy and paste this same post into Blue and PS's campaign thread, when I got distracted by stuff at work and didn't.

This WAS supposed to be a call for progressive unity, something I devoutly believe in. I obviously fuk$ed it up massively though. Tongue

Sorry for any confusion to anyone who mistakenly thought this was a slam on my own party's ticket.

Uh, a statement by one person who supports me in no way reflects the views of myself or my campaign. I'm disappointed that you'd even infer that.

I agree. I don't think it's fair to judge a candidate based on a comment or two from supporters.

My points are this:

1) The extreme right is strongly supporting Tmth to oppose the very policies we progressives value.

2) The right is similarly salivating at our increasingly rancorous divide.

Its up to us people. Everytime someone says, "enough, lets quit the drama and try to work together, two others begin pissing in the other party's Wheaties". One step forward, two steps back.

Enough. Its put up or shut up time folks. Either we ALL need to leave the drama and fighting behind---starting NOW & COMPLETELY--and start a functioning "competative cooperation".

Either that, or we should simply conceede the election to the RPP and Pops now.

I'll give you a quick outline of my "out of character", if you will, ideas for game reform.

1) I agree with what I'm pleased to see has become the consensus view amongst the candidates. The GM is regularly ignored - there was a massive economic crisis happening for weeks while Badger banged his head off the wall.

I'll quote from one of my debate answers, which I think lays out my position pretty well.

It's a GM issue - we need to get the GM posting in the Senate, we need regular contact between the administration and Secretaries and the GM, we need the game running according to some kind of actual plot. One of the biggest flaws in Atlasia is that laws go into a legislative black hole and are never heard from again - this is especially prevalent on a regional level.

As President, I'd also give the GM a small team of 1-2 assistants, focusing on regional issues, something that my fellow Governors would agree has been ignored for too long. Wink

PS: Here's a tl;dr version.  Tongue

At the risk of sounding like a broken record Wink, I'll restate my own preferences on the issue:

I think multiple GMs is likely to cause more headaches and confusion than not. Its been suggested to have one for domestic issues and another for foreign affairs, but these theatres interact too closely in today's world to have two chefs trying to cook the same stew. Regardless of inevitable jurisdictional disputes, its preferable to have one GM to develop long term plans and storylines that may interact.

That said, the GM job is huge if done properly. The idea of two assistant GMs is excellent, maybe even overdue. I believe the relatively underutilized jobs of SoEA and (especially) SoIA are perfect for these roles which should be incorporated into their job descriptions. This not only gives the GM's Office needed help (especially on domestic budget/economic number crunching and research), but gives these offices an equally needed expansion of their duties and tangible influence in policy decisions.
