This is simply hypocritcal. If Liberman had been a Republican turned Independent, and he was campaigning for Democrats, Democrats would be praising him, while many Republican's would critique him. I hope none of you ever complain that a candidate is too partisan, because that is exactly what you all want.

It's not totally hypocritical. Lieberman still caucuses with the Democrats and receives the perks of being associated with the ruling party, yet he thinks he is entitled to totally ignore them except when it suits him personally. The situation is different from say, Jim Jeffords- he still is technically somewhat affiliated with the party he left, whereas Jeffords cut all ties and jumped across.
