Hmm, I guess helping cause the largest bloodbath on American soil did Lincoln some good...

This indeed a disgusting result, but not surprising considering the sort of people deciding these things...

Yeah, I thought this was about who was the best nominee, not who you believe was the best president.  If we really were thinking about how each nominee did I would think that Theodore Roosevelt would've won over Lincoln (though personally, and I'm only basing this off of popular vote success as a candidate, I would go with Harding).
