I, Governor Ulysses Underwood of Texas, make a plea, as a loyal member of the Republican Party, to present a united front against the Democratic Party, and for all remaining candidates to endorse Helen Hudson for the Republican nomination. Now me and Hudson do not agree on everything, and I even endorsed one of her opponents, Senator Wyatt Williams, a man I am proud today to call my friend. However, the people of the Republican Party have already spoken. Even if not yet through the votes, Hudson's campaign receives donations every day and night from our party's supporters, far more than all of her opponents combined. Her ability to lead the American people certainly is superior to mine. Regardless, we need a united Republican Party come November, and not one fractured due to the needless infighting for the right to enter another fight for the highest office in the land. As Lincoln once said, a house divided cannot stand. We now are a house divided, unable to fully shift to one candidate or the other. My fellow Republicans, this division will be our downfall come November. Once again, I implore the remaining Republican candidates in the race for the nomination to endorse Governor Helen Hudson of Arkansas. God bless the United States of America.
