My father has died

Jesus that's horrible. I never really know how to react to news of this type. My own Dad died about a year and half ago in August of 2010. I was only 14 at the time and it was absolutely awful. For me, one of the important things is to keep your memories of your Dad with you forever and to remember the effect he's had on your life despite the fact that now he won't be there for the majority of it. I hope that you and your family are well and can keep it together. I'll keep you, your Dad, and your family in my prayers.

Since I lost my father at fairly young age as well, I can totally relate to this.

Two whole weeks between the death and the funeral? Is that normal in Austria, it strikes me as very long.

Most people have their funeral after 3 to 5 days, involving a coffin.

When my dad passed away, there was one week gap between death and the funeral, mostly because he died outside of Warsaw and was to be buried in Warsaw.
