That is a major (though not the major) reason for me.  I was discussing that with a friend and he named it "voluntary eugenics," which I thought fitting.

I don't consider my genes "inferior", I just find the whole "zomgz let's spread our DNA into another generation" laughable.

Active dislike for children is one of those animuses that should be critically examined a lot more than it is.

In all seriousness, though, if I ever were to become a father, I'd prefer to have a daughter rather than a son. Not just because I consider girls supreme to boys, but because I just can see myself being just like my own father in father-son dynamics, and no thanks.
