I've said a few times now that regardless of what one thinks about the way Mormons tend to get involved in politics--in terms of policy, in terms of strategy, whatever--the fact that they do have a strong tradition of dynamic, on-the-ground political involvement, and in most cases seem sincere and idealistic about it, is itself worthy of admiration. The same is true of black churches.

There is nothing admirable about religion muscling its way into our civic institutions. It's a very problematic thing, especially coming from "sincere and idealistic" people.

Does that include Martin Luther King Jr. [1]?

[1] Yes I realize he did not believe in the divinity of Jesus at least when he wrote his thesis, but nonetheless he mobilized the black church for political action as well as his own moral authority as a minister.

It says something, that annoying as the Clintons are, she'd still probably be the best of the G20 leaders (who else can compete - Dilma? Renzi? Jokowi?)

Rousseff and Xi are probably the best, which is not really a compliment to them.

Just because I'm a John Lennon (and Gandhi) who favours open borders doesn't mean that you are free to stereotype me as some awful human being.

Lol, you really don't know what you're talking about. Very few people in this entire world knows more about Gandhi or have read more books about him than me, so maybe you should stop talking right now. While other people have Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King or Mother Theresa as their hero, Gandhi has always been the one to me from very early childhood age. I couldn't think of a better hero to guide me in this world.

I never critized you either, so I'm not quite sure why you're attacking me in the first place?

I hate Family Guy, so no.  And besides, I'm reserving judgment until Coz's trial ends.  He's is presumed innocent until proven guilty, after all.
