NOTE: Due to a loss of interest, I am scrapping the secret ballot. From now on, post your votes in this thread as you would in any other survivor.

The voting schedule is as follows: In the first 21 rounds, you will cast a vote to eliminate one governor and a vote to keep one governor. One governor will be eliminated per round. A vote to keep will cancel out a vote to eliminate. Round 11 will have an additional special rule: In addition to your votes to eliminate and to keep, you will cast an additional vote to immunize one governor until the top ten. During this round, you may not cast your vote to keep and your vote to immunize for the same governor. After the first 21 rounds, the list will be reduced to the top ten, and we will eliminate one governor per round using the normal elimination rule until we can crown the Massachusetts Governors since 1900 Survivor!

Each round will last at least 24 hours. In case of a tie, the tiebreakers are as follows:

First tiebreaker: Number of votes to eliminate in the current round (For instance, a governor who receives 4 votes to eliminate and 2 votes to keep will be eliminated over a governor who receives 2 votes to eliminate and no votes to keep).

Second tiebreaker: Number of “points” in previous rounds (Votes to eliminate minus votes to keep).

Third tiebreaker: I cast the tiebreaking vote. I have no vote except in this instance.

Also, during round 11, votes to eliminate trump votes to immunize. If the governor who receives the most votes for elimination happens to be the same as the one who received the most votes to immunize, that governor will be eliminated, and the governor who received the next highest number of votes to immunize will be immune until the top ten.

The Final Round is open, and will close no earlier than 11:15 pm Eastern Time on Sunday, November 14th. Please specify whether your vote is to eliminate or to keep. Votes that do not specify will be treated as votes to eliminate.

Due to lack of a quorum (a quorum being 3 voters), this round is extended.

This survivor has ceased to generate the amount of interest it would take to justify keeping it open.

Quick poll: Would people be more willing to vote in this survivor if it were done the traditional way?

Because of your feedback, I have decided to get rid of the secret ballot. Round 8 is extended until (at least) 2:00 pm Eastern Time on Sunday, October 17th. Please post your votes in this thread as you would in any normal Survivor. The vote I have already received will not be counted unless it is posted in this thread.

The voting schedule and other rules for this Survivor remain unchanged, and the results of previous rounds stand.

It's time for the Round 11 Special! In addition to your vote to eliminate and your vote to keep, you get an additional vote to immunize one governor until the top 10 (Round 22). During this round, you are not allowed to cast your vote to keep and your vote to immunize for the same governor. If the governor who receives the most votes to immunize is the same as the one who receives the most votes to eliminate, that governor will be eliminated and the governor who receives the next highest number of votes to immunize will be immunized.

Round 11 is open, and will close no earlier than 1:30 am Eastern Time on Thursday, October 21st. Remember to cast one vote to eliminate, one vote to keep, and one vote to immunize, and that your vote to keep and your vote to immunize must be for different governors.

(10 rounds is very long ! even if Weld seems to be "protected" anyway for a long time !)

The idea behind it was to "raise the stakes" on the immunity vote. Here we begin the midgame with a candidate being guaranteed a top ten finish.

Of course, I had the secret ballot in mind when I designed this round. Combining the long-term immunity with the restrictions against voting for the same candidate for both keep and immunity could have led to some very interesting decisions, particularly in the secret ballot- do you try to protect a favorite for the short term, or risk losing him in an attempt to gain him long-term protection? Of course, there is still opportunity for those decisions to be made, but I think it could have been more interesting to see how it would have played out if everybody didn't know how everybody else was voting.

Eliminate Cellucci

Keep Weld

Immune Weld

I have specifically prohibited voters from casting their keep votes and immune votes for the same person. Please change your votes so that your keep votes and immune votes are for different people.
