Law enforcement should definitely not be privatized. Enforcement of the law and protection of rights is not only legitimate, but also the fundamental purpose of government.

In any event, each corporation charged with enforcing the law would effectively become a mini-government of its own. At best, the original problem would still remain; at worst, there would be anarchy.

While law enforcement and defense should not be privatized, matters like the production of weapons and police cars (for example) should.
