At the very least, this turn of events seems to validate my prediction that Americans are ready and willing to fully embrace fascism. If someone like Tom Tancredo, who is much more vocal about his views than Palin and the like, can be close to victory in a moderate state like Colorado, imagine what the political landscape will look like two years from now, after two more years of an awful economy and 9% or more unemployment.

Intolerable, blind nationalism is the only thing that gives people hope in times of despair.
