Could you imagine an Atlas road trip where we take Bushie out and try to get him to eat real food?  I think it'd be a big TLC hit to replace that family with a thousand kids.

Are your lunches paid or are you taking time off getting paid just for fun?

This is a rhetorical question BTW.

It's already been established the only two options for lunch in the world are ham sandwiches and Whataburger now, for some reason. Y'all wasting your time.

BTW, according to Google Maps, Whataburger is apparently 4 miles away from where he works. And according to Yelp, there are 62 restaurants within a 5 mile radius of his job. But again, and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS, the only two options for lunch are ham sandwiches and Whataburger.

He's consciously making terrible choices. Shame of this is that at Bushie's size and diet, he could be a pretty good nose tackle.

He's only 5'7". Too short for nose tackle.

The real loss in the NT community was Michael Brown.

At least we know he'll eat healthier on Thanksgiving as Grandma will serve green beans.

Happy Thanksgiving Morning to all my update participants, both protagonist and antagonist.  May your day be filled with faith, family, feasts, and football.  Sorry, Phil, both teams are evenly matched so I fully expect a Cowboys' victory!

sh**t, forgot to pick up the faith. Hope Kroger isn't all out!

You still have to have some will to want to not be a big fat fatty with gastric bypass. Bushie's complete unwillingness to walk anywhere and change anything at all with his diet will still keep the weight on.

Wouldn't he be physiologically unable to eat as much as he does now? He might still be fat, but he'd definitely fall way below what he is now.

He won't be able to eat his second dinner, but the first dinner will still be sloppy joes, poptarts, and coke.

IceSpear, I have thought about the procedure, but I guess I'm too afraid of going under the knife.

Does it scare you more than a heart attack?

Bushie's health is so bad that at this point, even losing weight by taking up cigarette smoking would probably be a net gain for him.
Losing weight by taking up crystal meth would probably be a net gain for him at this point.

And it'd give him the ambition to want to cook something for the first time in his life.

Jesus that BMI. I'd have to be over 350 lbs at my height to be as unhealthy as Bushie.

Bushie is technically heavier than Big Ted Washington who was 375 at 6'5" for a BMI of 44.5.

Bushie is in the Top 1% the fattest people on the planet, likely even Top .1%.

The hymn says "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine.  O what a foretaste of glory divine.  Heir of salvation, purchase of God.  Born of His spirit, washed in His blood.  This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.  This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long."  That hymn tells it like it is.  That doesn't sound like fear and wonder to me, that sounds like complete assurance and absolute peace.

So hymns written in the 1800s are part of Biblical canon, too?

Joe, the post office application is gathering dust in my Tulsa apartment.  It didn't even make the trip down to OKC.

Today, my main project is to clean out my car.  It's supposed to be 72 degrees today, so I can't use the cold as an excuse.  It's windy, but its always windy in Oklahoma.  I will watch some football today, but it won't be my only thing to do today.  I may go bowling with a good friend of mine this evening, depending on how he feels.  I want to get that 9 taste out of my mouth!

I just weighed this morning - two days after Thanksgiving and three days after I last weighed and I came in at 287 1/2.  I haven't gained anything from the feast.  I even ate some healthy turkey in the process.  Last night, though, Mom, Dad, and I went out for Mexican food to On the Border.  I didn't gain anything from that, either, apparently.

At 45 BMI, there's pretty much no room to gain. Any higher and you won't even be able to make it to the scale for weighing as you won't be able to walk.

Bowling is Bushie's favorite exercise because the place smells like fast food and it costs money.

I really need to lose weight.  I'm sure if I lost even 25-50 pounds, my back would feel better.  So, I am going to try to behave myself the rest of the year except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  I know I'll feel better if I can get some of this weight off.

I need to eat more vegetables and I will do so.  Maybe not every single meal, but most meals.  As far as exercise, I need to make the time to do it.

You made those comments more than a week ago.  Since then (even leaving aside Thanksgiving as a "free day" from your diet) have your eating habits changed at all?  Are you eating any vegetables?  And have you done any exercise besides bowling?

"in time."

I have no regrets about having that small cheeseburger before I bowled.  Nor should I.

No.

It gave me the energy I need to bowl as much and as well as I did.

No.

Plus, bowling is a legitimate work out, especially if you're not bowling in a large group.

No.

I probably burned more calories bowling tonight than I would have if I had taken a walk.

No.

The one and only drawback is it is too expensive to bowl every day.

Yes.

No.

No one can dismiss bowling as a meaningless activity.  It is a pretty good work out.

It's better than sitting on your butt watching football. But that being said, you probably wouldn't have gotten that cheeseburger if you were sitting at home watching football so it was a no net gain.

You have a BMI of 45. You have nothing to stand on when it comes to defiantly saying "this is right" and "there is nothing wrong" when it comes to fitness. No one would ever take your advice on this matter and you should follow their lead.

You wanna bet?  Braum's is only 3 miles up the road...

Great. So rather than spend money bowling, walk the 3 miles to Braums, reward your effort with a cheeseburger, and then walk the 3 miles home.

Man, I ate like Bushie a bit this weekend and it made me sick. Burger with fries for lunch and roast beef sandwich with fries for dinner. Grade 3 headache and a painful dump.

Don't know he does it.

Good Sunday Afternoon.  I am home from a great worship service.  Very insightful.  The message helped to re-confirm my calling to move to Kenya.  I was starting to get down on myself that I wasn't doing what I need to to get there, but then after talking with my best friend at the church, I realize that maybe I am.  I am working right now and Mom and I are very successfully paying off my debt so I can be debt-free when I do go.  I'm still probably 3-4 years away from moving over there, but I'm hoping that sometime in 2018 or 2019 I can move over there for a year or two.  I am not called to go now, but I am called right now to start preparing myself to go over there.  Mom and I just paid off a major bill in October and I am starting to snowball onto another bill.  I am going to sit down with my pastor pretty soon and get his insight into what I need to be doing.

You physically won't be able to move to Kenya unless you start losing weight.

You may not even be alive 2018 or 2019 with your current health trajectory.

Bowling might be a good exercise if he did it 7 days a week. Might.

But he's basically patting himself on the back saying he bowled for 1 hour to cancel out a cheeseburger and has his exercise in for the week.
