ABC projects a Coalition win. PVO reckons Palmer wins Fairfax. Swan and Bowen holding on for now, Katter's seat is very tight - no, not a typo.

I find it fascinating how varied the swings are. You have more marginal seats like Lilley and McMahon holding up but Lyons, Kennedy, and even Jenny Macklin's seat swinging deep blue.

Lab will fight on the carbon tax: official line is that they lost because of leadership, not policy.

Mirabella projected the winner. Guess these uneven swings and Lab overperforming in Western Sydney are what's playing havoc with those extra few seats projected Blue by Mackerras and Newspoll.

Plus pre polls. Senate will be really interesting but we won't know that outcome for a couple of weeks. Presumably the new Parliament meets next month? Of course Abbott should be sworn in on the 16th or so, per the '07 transition schedule.

I believe Antony Green said earlier Mirabella's in serious trouble if her primary's below 45. As for Senate, I only hope for Coalition control and Sinodonos' reelection.

All I'll say about Rudd is "good riddance." About the next PM, il a gagné ses épaulettes.

Hah, we're in the same boat! I believe Kelly, Kroger and PVO all suggesting raising the quota as a way to fix it. Something has to be done about the constellation of minor parties.

Interesting that a libertarian will be in the senate. What's PUP all about?

PUP's a personality cult.

Why did Tasmania swing so hard away from the ALP compared to the rest of the country? Is there some sort of government policy that's particularly unpopular in Tasmania right now?

To quote Al, the ALP-Green state government is less popular than death.

Since the other thread is locked, here's a SMH deep-dive inside the Lab campaign.

It's a shame Rudd wasn't so gracious in his concession speech.

Those 2 words don't belong in the same library. Tongue
