CAQ is centre-right on our spectrum, yes.

The president of Lac-Mégantic's chamber of commerce will run for the PQ. Theatre director Lorraine Pintal will run for them in Verdun. I must say the PQ does a great job on star recruitment. PLQ is lousy there.

I was referring to Pintal and the ex-journo I mentioned yesterday.

Why not? All lights are green.

Benhabib will run in Mille-Îles, Linda Goupil in Lévis. Couillard wants Gautrin to quit, I'd guess his prediction of Liberal defeat had something to do with that.

Apparently not. Marois is very cautious, she wouldn't move unless she felt the time was ripe.

More PKP buzz, St-Jerome riding association is prepared to roll out the red carpet. Believe when seen, obviously.

PKP again categorically denies any interest to SRC.

Gazette reporter calls Benhabib the PQ's token Muslim and implies PQ is racist. Disgusting.

On another subject, PKP's getting rather exasperated with the rumormongering.

More star candidates inbound for both parties, Gautrin's being shown the door. Marois might have to appoint her Rimouski candidate unless the riding executive changes their mind.

Date might be moved up a week, with dissolution next week.

PQ wants a return to the regular debate format: traditional format, one only.

Fatima Houda-Pepin may run as an independent. No Indie's been elected since 1966, FWIW. Dunno how popular she is in her riding but the official PLQ candidate should win easily.

Yeah. Cyclical for the ADQ: 2002-3, 2007-8.

If Legault sticks around after seeing his party nearly wiped out and losing his own seat. Which I doubt.

Agreed. In 4-5 years we'll talk about them again for a few months.

Changed the date because Radio-Canada confirmed April 7. Marois spent the day with her strategists, dissolution Wednesday following the Cabinet meeting.

Charter is now at 51% support, 68% among Francophones. Looking at the crosstabs there's a PLQ wedge with nearly everyone saying they're satisfied with service yet still supporting the charter provisions for providers. But Couillard's knowledge of counterattacking wedges and flash polarization is identical to Dion's. Fat doctor is running for the PLQ.

Confirmation of dissolution Wednesday. Literature's being mailed and the bus is ready, as are SQ security plans.

English media is in fantasyland if they think an English debate is happening for the first time in 30 years. Though I could definitely see Lisée being very interested if he becomes leader at some point.

More candidate news: fat doctor running as official PLQ, Desjardins in Groulx, Houda-Pepin as an indie PLQ.

Appropriate considering how they started out, also gave us our youngest premier. PLQ has never thought that way and I doubt they ever will.

Oops: brainfart. But PLQ is still lousy on under-30 recruitment.
