Based on your response to the questions on the political ideology survey, you are a moderate conservative.

You probably most agree with the views of the Republican Party. You may also be interested in the Libertarian Party. Your ideology is shared by the following Members of the House of Representatives:

Darrell Issa (R - CA, 49th District)
Gene Taylor (D - MS, 4th District)

If you’re a registered member of the GOP, some would call you a RINO – a Republican in name only! You believe in moderation in matters of gun control, government spending, drug laws, same-gender marriage, abortion and public spending. In most issues, you’re middle of the road … but still you’re not all that comfortable with somebody calling you a “liberal.”

You have a few very right-of-center views on matters such as free trade and national security, but you also believe in protecting the weak and those who have no voice. Let the rich and greedy pay their fair share! You believe in God, but are unsure He wants to be pulled into politics. And even if it takes borrowing, you know without a doubt that government has to take care of its people’s needs.

I wonder they mean by "very right-of-center" on free trade? Is that support for protectionism or support for free trade?

I have no idea, but I chose the moderate-hero option.

Yeah, doesn't help clarify what they mean. Tongue

Liberal
You scored 36 Equality, 64 Liberty, and 43 Stability!

You think liberty is important both for yourself and for all of humanity. You respect others and think it is important that everyone be given the opportunity to make decisions for themselves rather than have authority figures tell them what is best. The autonomy of every person is important to you but you think there are times in which personal action needs to be limited. As such you recognise that there is a role for government as long as it depends on the consent of the governed – this makes parliamentary democracy important to you. You prefer the role of government in economics and society to be small. In practice you will tolerate public sector activity as long as it is efficient and allows you to get on with your life. You are likely to advocate for both a predominantly free-market economy and a cosmopolitan and permissive culture.

They've finally gone the route of forcing you to sign up for their stupid dating site to view your results, so nobody should bother taking that test.

Not if you use the Helloquizzy version. It will ask you to make an account, but you can just skip to the results screen. I've been doing that for years. Tongue

LIBERTARIAN RIGHT

The Libertarian Right hold conservative views for the most part, although they tend to think of themselves as centrists because their views on most social issues are more moderate than their counterparts on the Right. Their attitudes toward personal responsibility and economic redistribution, however, are decidedly Right.

To the Libertarian Right, people are the makers of their own destinies. Regardless of where they start from, the Libertarian Right generally believe that individuals have the capability to achieve their goals if they work hard enough. They are therefore skeptical of government intervention and unions, which they see as perpetuating a cycle of dependency and inhibiting self-reliance.

The Libertarian Right tends to support the integration of religious and ethnic minorities as opposed to a multiculturalist approach. They believe that people should be treated as individuals, not as members of a particular subset of society.

The Libertarian Right generally favour capitalism over its alternatives because of the emphasis it places on the individual and its perceived rewards for hard work.

People in this group are generally well-educated and non-religious. They are unlikely to be immigrants. Most do not have a strong sense of belonging to their local community compared to other groups and are the least likely to be active participants in civic life.

YOUR NEXT BEST FIT: Steadfast Right
YOU ARE LEAST LIKE: Post-materialist Left

1. Economy
2. Taxes
3. Civil liberties
4. Public safety
5. Jobs
6. Poverty
7. Environment

Iran
Your country is 59 concerned with morals, 58 prosperous, 42 liberal, and 52 aggressive!

You have chosen Iran, a country with a complicated government controlled largely by conservative, religious forces. Try to lay off on the nuclear weapons production and open up a bit, why don't you?

I mean, I probably can't be trusted with nukes, so I at least have that much in common with Iran.

Wilsonian
You scored 9 Force, 5 Institutions, and 3 Ideals!

You are a true believer, a wild-eyed zealot. You aren't afraid to use force to achieve your ends, though you'd prefer to use the UN, and you truly believe that a country's foreign policy should follow its ideals. You mean well, but know this: the road to Baghdad is paved with good intentions. You are most likely young and idealistic, and you probably trust whatever your leaders say. After all, they would never lie to you.

HMPI
Horizontalist - Militant - Progressive - Individualist

You are opposed to big government and state welfare, and believe that the market would function much more efficently without any government intervention. You are prepared to take radical action against a state which tramples over individual rights.

Examples of historical HMPIs are:

Max Stirner - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Stirner

Liberal Cosmopolitan Independent
77% Liberty, 31% Equality, 38% Stability and 58% Power!

You think liberty is important both for yourself and for all of humanity. You respect others and think it is important that everyone be given the opportunity to make decisions for themselves rather than have authority figures tell them what is best. The autonomy of every person is important to you but you think there are times in which personal action needs to be limited. As such you recognise that there is a role for government as long as it depends on the consent of the governed – this makes representative government important to you. You prefer the role of government in society to be small. In practice you will tolerate their activity as long as it is efficient and allows you to get on with your life. You are likely to advocate for both a predominantly free political system and a cosmopolitan and permissive culture.

You also believe or desire to maintain a strong military organization in aggressive preparedness for war, but think the role of the military should be in service  to your other principles.

(I've actually never taken this one before. As long as you can look over the kind of weird game centric language, I think it's a pretty good test with fairly accurate results. It's basically  the Political Objectives Test with another scale.)

The Minarchist
44 Personal rights, 14 Morality, 43 Social justice, 26 Market Control

AGSD: Activist, proGressive, Self-reliant, Deregulating.
Live free or die! You're a government minimalist. You agree with the sentiment, "that government is best which governs least."

A basic government that maintains law and order and defends the nation from attack is all you're really looking for. You don't trust the government in your bedroom or near your wallet; either way it will probably put its hands where you don't want them!

You also feel that most people are perfectly capable of running their own lives without the government's help. And those who get into trouble can get help from their families or private charities.

Of course freedom is messy. The poor have little to no social safety net in your world. But, if they pull themselves up by their bootstraps, read some Ayn Rand, and get a damn job, life will be better in no time!

As for voting, you probably hold your nose when you get to the polls. For a while, Republicans catered more to your tastes than Democrats. But now that George W decided to turn the GOP into the party of Big Government, the Democrats aren't looking so bad. There is always the Libertarian Party, if you don't mind throwing away your vote.

If you scored under 10 on all four categories, then you, my friend, are an anarchist. You're probably taking this test from your heavily armed compound, waiting for the ATF and FBI to bust down the doors. Or you're trying to push a safety pin through your upper lip, while listening to the Sex Pistols. Don't forget to sanitize that thing!

Notable Minarchists are Thomas Jefferson, Milton Friedman, Ayn Rand, Barry Goldwater, and Ron Paul.

Frank S. Meyer

You are what is often called a fusionist: you believe that libertarians and traditionalists share a lot of common ground, not only politically but also philosophically. Freedom is fundamental, but freedom cannot mean mere license; virtue is the highest goal, but virtue not freely chosen is not really virtue. As Meyer put it, “Truth withers when freedom dies, however righteous the authority that kills it; and free individualism uninformed by moral value rots at its core and soon brings about conditions that pave the way for surrender to tyranny.”

Meyer (1909–1972) was a longtime editor of William F. Buckley Jr.’s National Review. As the leading proponent of fusionism, he played a key role in shaping the modern conservative movement.

Quite Postmodern
You scored 79 postmodern politics, 65 postmodern culture, 69 ecologics, and 79 postmodern industry

As far as politics is concerned, you tend towards globality. You're careful about the environment but care free in your personal life, always doing what you'd like to do. You're curious, intelligent and probably question our Western civilization once in a while. But in the end, you always conclude that we're still the best.

Variable
56% Social, 25% Economic and 0% Racial!

According to your answers to this test, you don't really fit into any particular category. You may agree with some aspects of the National Socialist ideology and completely abhor the rest - either way, you don't belong to either extreme but don't quite rest anywhere in the middle either. Chances are you're against National Socialism for the most part and whatever ideals you have in common with the politics and socio-economics of Nazi Germany are coincidental rather than intentional.

Pragmatic Libertarian

Pragmatic libertarians are libertarians who simply want to see government reduced and will use mostly means of politics to make that happen. You might be a Libertarian Party member or independent but you probably would not lose sleep voting for "the lesser evil", usually a Republican, as long as it is within reason. You advocate for specific policies tat limit the size of government. You are probably more of a consequentialist libertarian in that you support libertarianism on the grounds that it is beneficial rather than on a moral grounds. An example of a pragmatic libertarian is Rand Paul.

Your Result: Libertarian (89%)
According to the U.S. Libertarian Party, libertarianism is the advocacy of a government that is funded voluntarily and limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. In the United States people commonly associate the term libertarian with those who have "economically conservative" and "socially liberal" political views (going by the common meanings of "conservative" and "liberal" in the United States). Prominent libertarians include Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party) and Ron Paul (Republican Party).
