Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Clearly, we must prevent same sex marriage to protect the sanctity of Newt Gingrich's open marriage.

don't make me bust you up, man

It is one thing to make attenuated arguments based on zero empirical evidence that legalized gay marriage over time, might undermine the family unit.

Even that argument from Rick is ignorant and blind, for the acceptance of gay marriage will not undermine the family unit, rather the acceptance of gay marriage is a sign that the concept of a family unit has already been undermined by the overall society - and that is an objective observation based on empirical evidence:  record high divorce rates, record high percentage of unwed adults, record high percentage of kids born out of wedlock, 52 million abortions, etc, etc, etc.

So, sorry, Rick:  acceptance of gay marriage is not going to be the grenade in the coal mine, rather acceptance of gay marriage is already the dead canary in the coal mine.

Your analysis is actually pretty good here, though my view of gay marriage is more something along the lines of picking among the ruins of some ancient and formerly great city to try to find stuff that could be of some use to people who need it nowadays. Stuff that could easily have been more fairly given out in the past as well, but that ship sailed long ago.

I'd be rather interested in the prospect of having a severely mentally ill President. I mean something Axis I, not Axis II. We've had enough of Axis II.
