He's one of the most thoughtful, considered, and unflaggingly reasonable and polite people we have.

Well, one definitely can't say that Cassius pulls punches, that's for sure.

He has a very well-planned-out and systematic set of political views, and when his positions shift it's always in a way that makes perfect sense and keeps the whole coherent.

Hashemite is an excellent source on the politics of more countries than perhaps any other poster, and has a good sense of humor.

I think very few of us know and understand our local and regional culture as well as he does.

He's one of the most affable people on the forum, and I can't think of anybody I know to dislike him or any non-ideological reason to.

He's generally both open to criticism and capable of self-criticism.

Combines views that are underrepresented on the forum with an unusual degree of intellectual heft in the way he presents them.

It took a lot of guts for him to come back, especially in the style that he did.

I admire first and foremost the strength of his ethical principles and the thought he puts into them. If I ever face a serious dilemma, he is among the first people I would seek advice from.
