I've always thought that in 50 years the internet will be as safe, boring, and regulated as crossing the street at a crosswalk with traffic lights and a crossing guard.

This development is encouraging and makes me think that maybe the experience of going online will not be so rigid. At the very least, the downloaders should not be punished.

I fear this is just an isolated incident. I don't see the US, or any other major country following suit. Maybe it will raise some debate on the issue, but I don't think anything major will come out of it in other nations--at least for now.
