The issue isn't BAWWWWWWWWW COPS ARE DEMONIZED. The issue is that police brutality (or, the notion that if you put on a badge you're above the law you swear to uphold) is so commonplace in America that an officer actually doing their job right is news.

Exactly this. I know that not all cops are bad people, but we shouldn't have to prove that the people protecting us actually have our interests at heart and aren't licensed murderers.
