1. Give the 2 year notice of intent to leave the EU
2. Hold a referendum in Scotland that says IF the UK leaves the EU, do you want Scotland to become independent and stay in the EU. This presumably passes easily.
3. Now, have another UK wide referendum to confirm whether the UK should in fact leave the EU. It's pretty clear at this point that voting for the UK to leave EU is also voting for Scotland to secede.

Apparently, invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty cannot be reversed. So, that's not an option.

The European Council can unanimously choose to delay it, and so it would make sense that they could together with the UK Prime Minister or Queen could just cancel it.
