No, it's a past relationship kind of thing, which makes things more awkward.

I met former Senator George LeMieux today.

Just found out that one of my volunteers fINKSed me over big time today and stole fifty doors from me that I'd have otherwise gotten credit for.

I was almost assaulted by a weedwacker wielding maniac while trying to drop off a door hanger at his house. I literally came within three feet away from getting my face hit (and probably cut open) by the device while the man screamed at me to "stay the  away from my house." The man proceeded to pull out his camera and film us, and then had the gall to flip me off while I walked away. I remember his name and house so to avoid it in the future. Had I been actually injured, I'd have called the police, but with the Washington Post covering our office today, I figured it was best to avoid any drama and let it go.

Looks like I'll be interning for the Michigan Republican Party in the fall.

So, I just moved to Vancouver for school. The avatar change is jarring, but it is what it is. I'm already loving the city.

I'm actually moving to Tallahassee the day after tomorrow for the same reason.

Ugh, I bought Microsoft Office and the keycode won't work. And of course, the tech support doesn't help at all.

Ugh. So I woke up at 5:00 AM, drove myself to Tallahassee and arrived at three, only to find my apartment littered with drug paraphenalia and a used condom on the floor. I kid you not. I found a new, nicer apartment at the last minute, but my dad is going to have to break the lease with the previous location, which could be ugly. None the less, the presence of pills and a large amount of weed, plus the fact that the apartment literally had holes in the wall, should support his case.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry it didn't go smoothly. Hopefully you guys aren't given too much trouble.

As for me... I have a gorgeous view of downtown Vancouver in my lovely 300 square foot studio. I've been sleeping in a nest of blankets on the ground. Hopefully my mattress arrives soon. But I have wonderful plans for the place. I really love this unit though. Great location. Vancouver is amazing so far.

They allowed my dad to break the lease, no strings attached! I am in a much nicer location just across the street from FSU! Glad your move was successful as well!

I just got offered a major internship through a longtime political contact. I go in tomorrow to find out more about it.

Meeting about my internship was postponed for tomorrow. My friend says it is a done deal, but I still will have to go through the interview.

I arrived to the meeting about my internship. There was no interview. They immediately put me to work. I'm back after a three year absence from politics and for the first time since  November 2012, I truly feel my depression is gone!

Today was the first day of my new job at the library, which involves a computer and lots of listening to old vinyl records.

Please pray for my new friend Alex. I just literally talked him down from jumping off the fifth floor of my building. He needs all the support he can get. God is alive tonight and he put me there for a reason, but I still fear this guy might do something stupid soon, so I implore you for your prayers.

Please pray for my new friend Alex. I just literally talked him down from jumping off the fifth floor of my building. He needs all the support he can get. I'm extremely sorry to hear that; I do hope things work out alright.

I would recommend trying to spend as much time with him as possible, as one of the best ways to brighten someone's day (or life as a whole) is to show them that there are people who care for them. Generally, spending time with other people fosters a great improvement in one's mood over spending time alone.

Yeah, I just texted him. He left his phone at his girlfriends place (who just left him for a gay man, according to him. He seemed pretty messed up and I've been drunk since 4:00 PM) so I won't be hearing from him for a while, but still, I'll try and follow up on him.

The best course of action would probably be to actually be with him in person, as doing so would let you (a) make sure he doesn't do anything like that again and (b) be able to actually talk to him face-to-face, which is often more effective than communicating digitally.

When he texts me back, I will, because until then I won't know if he has his phone. But I certainly plan on meeting up with him. Besides the obvious stuff tonight, it turns out we have a lot in common, so there are multiple reasons why this happened tonight. In the meantime, all we can do is pray.

If you can I'd suggest you encourage him to check himself into a hospital/mental health facility.

It won't be until at least tomorrow, but if he is in the same shape, then yes, I will advise him to do that.  Should I have called 911 tonight, or did I handle things alright? I'm feeling calmer now, but I still worry.

Thank you. By the way, I have been reading your posts here but haven't found the right things to say, other than the fact that you should basically follow Bedstuy's advice and take a few risks with friends. You never know unless you try.
