This is a perfect example of right-wing political correctness. I've been pissed by it all day, and I wish she didn't apologize. I mean, who here seriously thinks Kathy Griffin is a threat to the President? It was way too edgy, it was designed to piss people off, and she succeeded. That is the job of the comic. The female comics these days have more balls than any of the men.

This has gotten more reaction from the right than the Portland shootings and Gianforte assault.
The Portland stabbing by the mentally deranged Sanders supporter trying to make us look bad? Why would we want to talk about it? Left-leaning violence is old news now.

It is funny how the older Republican grannies (who from what I've seen have been the core of the outraged Trumpists) like to scream "SNOWFLAKES!" and yet they're trying to somehow pin this on CNN because Kathy Griffin is friends with Anderson Cooper. People ask me if I am embarrassed by Trump. I am not. I am embarrassed by this. Right-wing political correctness is also on the rise, just not on the campuses (thank God).

See, I can make an argument that this isn't appropriate. A comic clearly has a stated mission - Kathy Griffin moves the line, and sometimes she goes past it - Marilyn Manson is just a singer who entertains in a totally different dynamic.

I do agree with Cathcon that comedians are starting to take themselves way too seriously. You'd think the guest on @Midnight are at the barricades each day judging by the way they talk. A comedians job is to shock and anger some for the laughter of the many. These people are too afraid to offend, and yet they view themselves as part of a new golden age of comedy because they can send mildly amusing tweets at any moment.

I think runaway PCism is becoming a bigger problem on the right than left, there is still the stupid War on Xmas crap and meltdown from the right over a seemingly offensive joke. Just look at their reaction to Meryl Streep giving a speech.
What are you talking about? Are you high? The so called "War on Christmas" (overblown by the right, I concede) is left-wing political correctness. Look at things like that feminist summit in Paris that was open only to women of color. Look at the lawsuits over Christmas decorations, etc, every year. That is a lot different than the outrage over Starbucks cups.
It just shows that it's been done by artists before, but because Kathy did it it's just too much? I don't get the outrage, and ontop of that Obama had to deal with stuff like this pretty much everyday for eight years.

I would make a joke about you first saying "artists" and then saying "Kathy Griffin", but I honestly don't know who she is (beyond my suspicion that she played some annoying woman on Seinfeld).
Yes. "You should just give up" said Cramer. She then made a one woman show lashing out at Jerry. He tried to sue IIRC. Good episode.

I still don't see the big deal. Why kick a comedian off for making an offensive joke? It's her job. It's not like Chris Cuomo posted this picture.

If they don't kick her off for this, they'll really have a hard time brushing off accusations of anti-Trump coverage.

Nobody has hired more pro-Trump syncopates and former or current members of Trump's inner circle than CNN.

Give it a rest with the muh media bias already...that sh.it is so 2000s
They have Jeffrey Lord on only so Van Jones can scream over him and for the hysterical host to start denouncing him. He barely gets a word in. And Jeffrey Lord isn't part of the "inner-circle" by any stretch of the imagination. That is it. All of their other Republicans are either Never Trumpers like Ted Cruz's mistress staffer Amanda Carpenter.

i can understand why you don't remember kayleigh, i would prefer forgetting about her too.

and i am also not sure, if matt schlapp, jack kingston, scottie nell hughes and .....now off to greener  places....katrina pierson are such fine country club establishmet types as you suggest or even...lol..#nevertrump.
I've been watching a ton of MSNBC since I've been out of Tally (where I don't get MSNBC). I find the coverage, on the whole, much better. I wouldn't call it fair, but CNN is the tabloid of cable. It's actually degenerated worse than Fox if that was possible.

None of CNN's pro-Trump people are not particularly competent, compared to the surrogates that Fox and MSNBC has representing him at least. There is a reason for that.

Are you trying to get the Secret Service on here Runeghost? Because in the context of your post, you literally just threatened the life on an 11 year old boy.

Edit: And don't bull any BS about how you meant Trump's policies are heartless. We all know what you meant. If you meant otherwise, link to the AHCA or something.

As I wrote on my blog, this is the sh**t we saw from the right wing the last 8 years:

So the fact that Jeanine Pirro goes on an unhinged diatribe over the Kathy Griffin photo says to me that the right can dish it out but they get incredibly thin-skinned when it comes to taking it.
You are 100% right. This is right-wing hypocrisy. It's embarrassing, especially from the "LOL SNOWFLAKES!!!" crowd. I won't disagree with you one bit. My grandmother's friend literally emailed me all of those pictures at some point in the last eight years. I got the Reagan one multiple times from the old man (who is very, very, very racist but is so hilariously unaware of it that it's comical).

Since I've heard that Barron was upset by it, I've become a little less pro-Griffin, but my point still stands. It may have been hurtful, but every other sentence she says is hurtful to plenty of other celebrities and public figures. I'm actually glad she did apologize in the wake of the Barron revelation, if only because that is merely the polite thing to do. No eleven year old should be exposed to that, but I am 100% sure that if Griffin knew he'd see it (I assume a friend of his texted him the image or something) she would not have done it. She just doesn't strike me as a bad person.

That Barron story is obvious fake news
Only Democrats get to decide what is and what isn't fake news, right?
