Lincoln 1860/Obama 2012 States: Green
Lincoln 1860/Non-Obama 2012 States: Gold
Non-Lincoln 1860/Obama 2012 States: Red
Non-Lincoln 1860/Non-Obama 2012 States: Blue

Stereotypes:
Green: True Northern, cosmopolitan, pro-minority states, with plenty of liberal whites.
Gold: Populist, blue collar states, with a slight racial bias but some sympathy for minorities.
Red: States overwhelmed with demographic change, whites lean conservative.
Blue: Ultra-conservative, bigoted, regressive, unreconstructed, not changed demographically yet.

Politicians:
Green: Most similar to George McGovern. Looking forward to the future, and to change.
Gold: Most similar to Andrew Johnson. Based in the past, but accept minor changes, and can sometimes seem progressive.
Red: Most similar to Jeb Bush. Moderate right-winger who wants to appeal to minorities.
Blue: Most similar to George Wallace. Conservative and rooted a good 40 years in the past.

Just an utter garbage post

Wouldn't be needed if humanity stopped reproducing like rats.

Everything would be much easier if the world population would only be 10 million instead of the soon 10 billion and renewables would be plenty available.

Misanthropic garbage.

Misanthropic garbage.

Still, hard to disagree with.

Not if you don't regard the human race as vermin.

My top 5 Party Choices:
1. Likud (I voted this way in the poll and my sig should make it obvs)
2. The Jewish Home
3. Kulanu
4. Yisrael Beiteinu
5. Shas

In other words, kill all Palestinians, amirite

You support Communism, you shouldn't talk about killing. Your movement has more blood on it's hands then any other ideology.

Yeah, but the difference is that the people killed by say, the Bolsheviks, weren't people who were systematically denied the right to have electricity in their homes, meaningful work, or adequate food. The Bolsheviks and co. actually killed people who did things that were pretty abhorrent and that would never have been held accountable for them otherwise. Were they always right? Definitely not. But they never set out to systematically eradicate an entire group of people because Russia was "god's gift" to them or whatever bullsh**t you Zionist-fascists go on about.

Killing is not in and of itself immoral. Everything is contextual. Wiping out the white armies that would overturn Russian democracy and enslave the people =/= wiping out Palestinians because they had the gall to live somewhere that a group of chauvinist imperialist-lackeys decided was their land.

Absurd defence of a group that eradicated so many groups based on pseudo-religious ideological hatred and obviously hyperbolic regarding the Zionists.

The War on Drugs was started by Nixon in the 1970's as a way of controlling the drug love protestors of his ideals. Since then, the rate of people that have been put in jail or prison (they're different things) has skyrocketed and Nixon's successors have not done anything to end it.

Once Reagan came into office, he escalated the War on Drugs even further, incarcerating even more people. (mostly minorities) His wife Nancy started the famous "Just Say No" campaign, and LAPD chief started the infamous DARE program, which was accepted quickly. There were other ways that it was enforced. People were lead to believe that drug abuse was a major problem in the United States.

George W. Bush took the War on Drugs literally, and used violence on drug users. Thousands of SWAT raids for drug-related offences happened, and then there's the Mexican Drug Cartels.

However, unlike his predecessors, Obama has both admitted to drug use in his younger years and seems to be more progressive on drug use, including the announcement of a video about the failings of the drug war. Despite this, there are still violent actions against drug users and high incarceration of them.

Anyway, the point is, is Nixon's War On Drugs ever going to end? If it ends, it would mean surrendering to the drugs and declaring them the winner. Could Americans accept that? How exactly could an ending happening? Marijuana is legal in two states for fun and a few others for medicine, and has a reasonable chance of getting to be as widely accepted as alcohol. Harder drugs have no chance of being legal, so Dr. Feelgood's Cocaine Emporium (not sure where I first saw that used, but apologies to whoever used it first) still will be in business.

So, War on Drugs, will we finally surrender to the drugs? Or will it always be around, with the government always trying to incarcerate everyone who uses them?

Freedom Fighters of course. Most white people are awful, but white liberals are great. What's quite funny is how people like krazen like to claim white liberals are the most racist people in America, even though they usually live in heavily minority areas.

Bravo Obama! Thank God we have a president who is bravely willing to stand up to both the teabagger far right and the professional left in this country. For the past seven years, you've just seen wave after wave of these nonsensical arguments from these bratty and entitled true leftists on the internet and now in Congress (on everything from Guantanamo to the NSA to the NDAA to Obamacare), and it's refreshing that Obama is finally willing to challenge these idiots. All they care about is symbolic battles, while Obama has been in the trenches for the past seven years actually doing concrete things to make this country better.

edit: I know that sounds angry and hyperbolic and I don't even really care that much about TPP, but "the left's" arguments against this have just been exhaustingly terrible and nothing but inflammatory fearmongering (SECRET DEALS!!!111! CORPORATIONS WILL SUE US!!!!11!). Imagine if the effort put into defeating this bill had been put into defending and promoting the Affordable Care Act. The American left is supposed to be reality-based and pragmatic, that is our greatest advantage over the frothing fascists on the other side of the aisle. But the reaction to the TPP has been embarrassing.

I was going to post this one, but I'm delighted that someone else already has. I presume that Lief would be anti-TPP if it were Bush negotiating it, and if Obama came out for tax cuts for the rich and a land war in Asia with the Russians tomorrow, he'd be all for it.

It probably has more to do with the fact that you refer to the developed (at the cost of the other segments of the globe, which the countries in question have raped and pillaged to develop themselves) countries that comprise NATO as "objectively the best nations." Nothing says parochial ignorance like looking at a bunch of rich nations and saying 'wow, these are the best!' while likewise not noting how they came to be where they are or how they maintain the international disparity between themselves and the developing economies they exploit to keep the capitalist system afloat.

Easy to say that when you've been called out on your own retrograde opinion, isn't it?

When a Muslim commits an act of terror, we often ask why the Muslim community isn't standing up to repudiate their actions.

Should white Southerners be asked to apologize and condemn Dylann Roof's acts of racial violence?

Should they be asked to take their racist, hateful flag down from their pubic buildings and unequivocally admit, once and for all, that their ancestors were treasonous traitors on the wrong side of history?
