It's international football, but I'm watching the U-20 Women's World Cup final right now between Germany and Nigeria. Surprisingly exciting.

casual misogyny?

I'd rather listen to a garbage disposal than read your posts.

United ended up losing 4-0 and I think they were home. Van Gaal is officially the new Moyes. Wink

Sadly, the CL will be without Celtic this season after they lost to Maribor. It really annoys me that a team from Slovenian will be in the Group Stage but Napoli might not. Sad

If we don't advance, Rafa must be fired.

Rafa must go. Zero debate needed on that these days.

Naturally, one of the Italian sides (Roma) would get the Group of Death. I still think they can progress. Juve should get out of Group A. And go figure: Napoli would have been in the easiest group. At least Italy will be well represented in Europa...

Barça's and Arsenal's groups are tough, too.  Chelsea get a cakewalk again.

Also, in Europa League talk, that Feyenoord match had to be one of the craziest: 1-1 after the first leg, Feyenoord go up 3-0 at home in the 2nd leg, Luhansk get three in a row and are set to go through on away goals only for the Dutch to find a goal in the 92nd minute.

Serie A returns in just under four hours with Chievo Verona vs. Juventus. The second match today should actually be truly awesome: Roma vs. Fiorentina.

And Fernando Torres is now officially an AC Milan player. Make whatever jokes you'd like.

This Everton-Chelsea match...

Cult hero (joke) Tim Howard has conceded ten goals in three matches. Bwahaha.

Tim Howard is a good goalkeeper. I know you hate America, but don't be an idiot Phil.

Ten goals. Three matches. I'm sure his plastic fans are devastated once they're reminded of who he is!

A good goalkeeper can't make up for a piss-poor defense.

Don't by a sympathizer. Literally the only redeeming quality about you is that you're not a fanboy of the joke team. Howard has been vastly overrated, a created hero for these tools.

Phil you're sounding like a crazy person. Take a deep breath and go back to supporting your Europa League club team and national team that is always eliminated in the group stage.

Stars on my team's crest: four (including one within the last decade that I could enjoy)

I lost count. How many are on your team's?

As for my club team, it will actually have a chance at winning a European title this season as opposed to yours, which will celebrate their traditional Round of 16 exit. And that Europa League team I support has at least won that tournament (technically, Napoli won the predecessor tournament) as opposed to Arsenal, which can never win the tournament it regularly competes in nor that silly little Europa League, for that matter.

Italy only really won twice, given that the 1934/38 teams were literally playing for their lives (Mussolini threatened to have them killed if they lost)

(BTW Phil,  don't forget the Euro 2012 final Wink)

There we go. It's been awhile since I heard that "They don't count!" jealously.

What does the 2012 Final have to do with anything though? I'm trash talking with Lief, SS. See yourself out of this adult conversation.

So Falcao ended up at United as opposed to Real Madrid. The latter was almost a done deal but we know how these things get towards the deadline.

Other highlights: Welbeck to Arsenal and Chicarito to Real Madrid (on loan).

Feel free to post international stuff featuring at least one European side in the Euro qualifiers thread, boys, even if they're just Friendly matches.

So camo away jersey for Napoli this season but we couldn't get off too easy: we now have denim kits.

There's an outside chance that they don't even get third place at this point.

Stop being an idiot.

Wonder what you were saying about Manchester United this time last year. Wink

That they'd end up around where they ended up. Please don't ever compare David Moyes to Carlo Ancelotti. Just...please.

Excellent results all around especially Benfica losing at home. Very important that Portuguese teams fail especially this CL campaign for the sake of Italy's coefficient.

Barça only beat APOEL 1-0 at home. Meanwhile, Roma spanked CSKA Moscow 5-1 (late consolation goal for the visitors).

Real Madrid finally get going and get an 8-2 win.

Great matches this weekend: Milan vs. Juve today and City vs. Chelsea tomorrow.
