Or the Democratic nominee is Chaka-time.  In which case I'd concede to Phil, Toomey would definitely win.  I wouldn't even be sure of Toomey as a guarantee against Bob Brady though that would be a Tossup/Lean GOP.  Schwartz-Toomey would be a lean/likely Dem.  She is just too good of a fundraiser and too sharp of a candidate.

How many Democrats would have to run in the primary for Chaka Fattah to win the nomination?

It doesn't matter. I don't think that guy is dumb enough to ever try that. They rumored it a few years ago, citing Obama's win in 2004, but I think it was as a joke.

Actually John Street was rumored to run.  sh**t, you would then see me with a website running a write-in campaign if that were the case if it were against a Santoomey type.

Oh, yeah, that's right. I think Chaka was mentioned, too.

Anyway, you vs. a "Santoomey" type vs. Street would be an instant classic.  Smiley

The state party would never let it happen. Ever. It would be a disaster for you guys.

Might as well comment about PA 4 here...

I've heard through the grapevine that this isn't going to turn out that great. I'll just say that it comes from people that know the district a bit better. I believe Hart will run a strong race and there is still a chance that she could win it back but after looking at her website, I can see why voters may stick with Altmire. All of her ads, thus far, are totally negative. I can understand why the message she's using against Altmire would work but she should have ran this race as the incumbent with an almost completely positive tone. If she's going to be anti Altmire the whole time, I don't see her winning this race.

If she loses I have a feeling that Lynn Swann will run in the 4th in 2010, he almost ran this time. I agree with a previous sentiment of yours that he doesn't belong in politics so lets pray Hart scores an upset despite her negative campaign.

Swann will likely have politics out of his system by 2010 if it's not already gone now.

He came really close to running for the House this election, so his 22 point defeat in 2006 didn"t get politics out of his system, so what will?

He wasn't really that close. He knew Hart would run again. Everyone did. He probably wanted a way to redeem himself from the defeat (which was only 20 points, not 22 Wink ) so he got an idea to run for a more winnable race.
