Illegal nuclear weapons I might add, just like India, North Korea and Pakistan.
Israel, India, and Pakistan never signed the NPT so the only thing that might be illegal about their nukes is if they stole some of the materials in them.

I'm hesitant to bring this up because I'm only patrilineally Jewish (and thus not really Jewish at all, because I take the rules seriously even if they're not technically mine), but accusing somebody like Al Franken (I don't know enough about Horus to know whether or not the same can be said of him) of not being Jewish enough or of self-hatred on the basis of a position that evinces a slightly-less-than-uncritical attitude towards the Israeli political consensus is honestly kind of unnerving. I understand that most (all?) of the major political factions in Israel are less than thrilled with this deal and many of them are quite vehemently opposed to it, but treating it as an issue on which dissent from that viewpoint is completely unacceptable strikes me as...I can't think of a word that succinctly indicates that I have a strongly negative view of that tendency but don't consider myself invested enough in Jewishness to fully commit to that view, but it strikes me as that.

I'm not a religious Jew by any means, but my mother is Jewish so I am as well whether I like it or not. The self hater mantra that the neocons and revisionist Zionists throw around has bothered me for years, but until yesterday the term had never made it onto this forum.
That's not true, I've been calling people like that in the Israeli election thread already Wink
Just keep your incivility from being aimed at other posters.  The general rule here for what is considered a personal attack is that posters are free to level fairly high invective against ideas and public people such as Sen, Franklin, but are held to a stricter standard when speaking of other posters themselves instead of their ideas. Hence why your post about Sen. Franklin is still here in this thread, but your post about Horus is not.
