I think Martin Luther King said that it's the lack of dickishness in the good people that is the problem (or something similar) so that's what I try to live by.

Thanks for the kind words to those who offered them. I'm glad that some of the many people on here I do have a lot of respect for and whose opinions I value highly have somewhat similar feelings in return.
