I'd love to see Lieberman crush Lamont to shut up all the DailyKos people but alas:

Lamont 55
Lieberman 45

November 7, 2006

I know, but I'd rather spare myself 3 months of agony until then.

And this needs to be rubbed in the face of all Lieberman supporters.

That's a pretty accurate commercial.

Except for the part about Lamont being a Republican 80% of the time, I agree.  Although it is quite a bizarre ad.

I predict that both Lieberman and Lamont will win 51% of the primary vote, due to their supporters hacking things.

Lamont was up to 90 on tradesports a couple of hours ago, now he's down to 62, maybe they know something we don't?

We're up to 82 now and nowt has changed.

You're talking in terms of precincts and not percent correct?

Tradesports has Lamont up in the mid-90s.  This mirrors the Kilgore v. Kaine race election night.  Not looking good for Joe.

54/46 to Lamont; the gap has been slowly shrinking for a while now.

Lamont is currently leading in New Haven, but only 11/45 have reported there yet.

Which site are you on, Al?

That's dissappointing-New Haven is Joe's backyard.

Good news for Lieberman-all of Grenich has reported.

However, nothing from Stamford yet--I'm guessing that's Lamont country?

No sense for two threads here--might as well move everything into the Lieberman-Lamont Showdown thread.

Michael Barone per FOX has said that either Lieberman will win in a close one or Lamont will win in a close one.

What an outrageous prediction. Tongue

Almost as good as:

She may not have the advantage, but being ahead in the polls right now, she is in better position to win than McGavick does. It is better to be ahead in the polls right now than not being ahead.

And still nothing from Hartford or East Hartford...I assume Lieberman will win those.

This is a fun race.

It looks like we are getting residual results from around the place before we get Hartford and other urban areas.

According to CNN, the CT Sec. of State said that turnout was very high in Hartford.

Taking strong stands on the issues is a winner in the general electiion, you don't win the general election by cutting and running like Joe Lieberman likes to do.

I generally agree with the first part (although by that logic shouldn't you be voting for Santorum?).

Bu how does Lieberman "cut and run".

Of course, his party "cut and run" from him, so I guess this leaves us at square one.

Not to mention Lamont's stance on Iraq....

He enables Bush, who ignored the 8/06/01 memo, and started a war for no reason to distract people from Afganistan. Bush is bad for America, and Lieberman should be opposing Bush.

What does that have to do with "cutting and running"?

Bush made a huge mistake with going to war with Iraq, but pulling out is not the answer.

And answer me again-would you support Rick Santorum based on your Strong Stands vs. Moderate theory?

I didn't say I blindly support the candidate with the strongest stands, of course that would have supported Bush both times. I meant that the American people tend to support someone with convictions more than someone like Lieberman who blows with the wind. Not to mention that Lieberman seems to be heading the wrong direction more than the right direction. It's not just the war, it's pro-torture Gonzales, CAFTA, cloture on Alito, and so on, and most of all his right-wing rhetoric.

If you're a liberal and a Lamont supporter, whatever, I understand that for the reasons you mentioned, but how does Lieberman "blow in the wind"?

Don't you always complain about Gore should have won after the recount.  I don't really see how Lieberman's being a sore loser here, but to November we go!

Lieberman didn't give a sh**t that the election was stolen from him in 2000 when he was running against Bush. Now he suddenly cares that he lost now that a Democrat beat him? Lieberman isn't a DINO, he's a Republican.

Says the person showing a picture of Republican signs.

Lamont's speech was about one of the worst "victory speeches" I've ever heard, so adolescent and juvenile, geez.

That's the quality might end up losing him the general election, when I think he probably has a slight advantage now.  It really appears to me like he could show himself up to being an empty suit before the general commences.  I give it about a 50% chance.

No, I don't, sorry.  I'll either look for it now or tomorrow.  I imagine that it has to be up on the Web somewhere, though I don't see it on Lamont's site.

Oh well, thanks anyway.  I'll keep my eyes out for it.
