The right to bear arms is an anachronistic concept that I am willing to tolerate in limited circumstances.

A national registry of new gun purchases would be created.

Universal background checks. Those who wish to purchase a handgun would be subject to a background check. Those who have been arrested more than twice in the past ten years would need to undergo a psychological evaluation in addition to a background check and would be prohibited from private sales. Production of automatic weapons would be banned.

An ammunition tax would be assessed to each ten rounds of ammunition, equivalent to one cent per percentage point of poverty rate that is reported by the U.S. Census annually (sorry, BBs).

Firearms would be permitted in public buildings by public employees only and only at their location of unemployment - if they have received proper training. It would be at the discretion of the individual (assuming they meet prerequisites outlined) as to whether or not they carry while at work.

The rest I really have no strong preferences for, as I believe in a strict but broad framework for regulation of firearms.
