Call me crazy, but I'm kind of a fan of the lameduck. The only time it'd seem to present any real issue is if the composition of the Senate drastically changes between elections (which is possible), but most of the time, it just gives some of us more incentive to hurry up and pass what we can before we're out of office. Tongue

As best I can tell, the recent PR Amendment we passed/are passing wouldn't be affected by this, so I'm open to debate.

Wait: on the part about December, wouldn't the election itself usually occur on the third Friday of the month, or is it the second because of the holidays? I remember that we hold them early, but what happens when there are five Fridays in December? Maybe I misunderstood.

In case I did misunderstand, I'd like to offer an amendment (just cleaning up structure; it doesn't change any of the wording of the current version):

Most of those who have voted so far have voted in favor. Still too early to tell, especially with no southerners having voted yet.

Only Nappy and Oakie seem to have voted no in the regions so far, but I might have missed someone.

If you tell each of them that they voted the same way, we might get one (or both) of them to change their minds. Tongue
