I'd be more willing to criticize the "SJW" movement if it didn't mean siding with a bunch of racists.

For every one legitimate complaint about being overly PC, there are 20 angry white kids who think concepts like not calling gay people fags, not using the N-word, not dressing up in black face, not using misogynist terms, etc. are stupid.

This. Particularly on college campuses where everything is polarised. For the same reasons Christian groups on campus are usually nutters, leftists think they are Marxists and so on. College does not equal the rest of the country.

Well, that doesn't seem to be very accurate. What schools are you talking about with nutty Christians? Liberty and Bob Jones? Even their student bodies don't reflect the extreme school values. Most College Republicans are your young businessman type (and I suppose many in Greek Life?). I don't know where you're getting this idea of Christians doing anything on campuses.

College also does not equal the USA Cheesy

I'm here for two reasons, to make fun of dumb lefties and to point out when regular people get screwed over by the "the utterly ridiculous" 1% that are activists. (actually, the activists normally don't do anything because they are sniveling children.  They cry and bitch and call mommy (or the cops or the administrators, all the same thing to their tiny little minds) until someone with actual power caves to them and screws over the life of the teacher that offended their delicate little heads or the dude you enjoyed having sex with until your friend/parent/counselor/fellow activist convinces you it was rape 3 months later.

If you don't care about such things, fine don't come in here.  Or do and look silly, it doesn't matter to me.  I'm not trying to shut down anybody's speech.

Whiny right wing kids running to their parents or their pastor because reality is playing out in front of them at school are more annoying. And get almost no derision.

Hans and Sophie Scholl would be hated on here.

wow....just....wow....stay classy!

Stay classy? Now we have to stay classy? Are you offended?

Campus graffiti campaigns, leafleting. How annoying it must have been for the other students and the authorities no?

No. You made the comparison.

People who moan about college students (especially if they aren't at college any more) are more infuriating as at least college student focus is short term. To be outside of that and being infuriated by student politics is stupid. It's the equivalent of caring about college sports.

College is a bubble, that's all. Worse happened in the 60's (legit violence) and in the 1800's (anarchism and the catalyst for the 1848 revolutions) all born in universities and colleges. Sometimes you get a White Rose or an Ole Miss.

Let's simplify this.

A campus is a home. That's what it is, ultimately for students who live there. Every home up and down the country has 'house rules'. Sometimes you're asked to not to swear, sometimes you're asked not to bring up certain issues. Do people bang on private homes and demand that 1st Amendment rights be protected? No. Say anything homophobic in my home and your out the front door in my home. Does that make us 'special snowflakes?' No.

Sometimes students just don't want sh-t brought through their front door, because they are concerned about people they live with. That's all it is. They will leave college and that will be the end of that. But while they are in college, they might be a little sensitive about the people they are sharing their communal space with. That's all it is. And it's not new.

Sigh.

I love how sensitive people are in a thread about taking apart peoples 'sensitivity'.

These people are really gonna drive me off a cliff someday. So glad I made this thread. Another valuable contribution! After I thought I completed every goal in my life, I will add a new one: to make these people as miserable as can be.

I admit, my first instinct after watching that video was to yearn for the days where women were in the kitchen. Tongue

Not the right thing to do, but man did she get on my nerves.

My first instinct after reading this post was to yearn for the days when Christians were thrown to the lions.

Yawn. Is this thread still a thing?

Trumpists are feeling very triggered these days. You can't blame them for wallowing in pre 2015 nostalgia.
