Senator, you have 24 hours to start explaining this.

We need to honour our eminent citizens. Most other counties, monarchy or republic alike, do have orders of merit and it is for shame that we do not have one.

Contrary to Article I, Section VI, Clause 6 of the Constitution and should be removed from the floor as unconstitutional.

Edit- Or you could just relabel it all as medals or something.

Several republics have order of merit, there is no reason to assume that we could not do so.

Nothing against the principle, but I'd prefer we pass a less imperial version of such a bill. I'm also slightly uncomfortable with the cross imagery.

I'll propose an amendment to this end after the Senator has given his reasoning.

An Amendment:

Bacon King's amendment is unfriendly.

I wouldn't consider giving distinction award to citizens by an order of merit a title of nobility.

Except we already have a Hall of Fame with different levels. Congressional Gold Medal, Congressional Silver Medal, Congressional Bronze Medal, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Presidential Citizens Medal, etc.

We do? Er, okay then, I don't see any need for this.

Motion to table.

We do?

He means "we" as the USA, not "we" as Atlasia.

What is this "Usa"? If this "Usa" has these things, why does it matter? Atlasia does not, even if "Usa" does.

All I wanted was to give people the chance to wear sashes and collars and ribbons.

Motion to table.

Many republics have Orders of Merit, and I don't see why it should preclude our doing so.

Can I get my name back on this? Tongue

You don't think that our constitution's titles of nobility clause precludes that possibility? I don't know how expansive that term is, but as long as we're passing this on a sound legal footing, I'll support your preference.

This is the amendment.

How about a degree of "silver star" and "gold star"?

I withdraw my prior amendment.

The substitute is friendly. I do agree with Sen. Nix's sentiments.

What would that be- Order of the Silver Star and Order of the Star Gold? Huh

Also, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have the bull renamed "Order of the Star of Atlasia Act".

This needs repealed as contrary to our Constitution.

How many times must I say this?'

"Several republics have orders of merit, therefore an order of merit cannot be a title of nobility."
