The latter. Dem establishment politicians wish they would just go away.  Republican establishment needs the fundies.

Cynthia McKinney isn't a Democrat.

Agreed.  This is Atlas Forum so all the non teenagers probably have some vague notion of who Cynthia McKinney or Corrine Brown is.  But I doubt 95+% of the average people in America could even identify these people's party affiliation (as was demonstrated in my previous post).

Fundamentalist Christians on the other hand are almost constantly in the news for one reason or another and people have pretty strong feelings about them.
