Cathcon, Smith isn't barred for serving another term.  She served less than half of Ike's last one.  This is why Johnson could run in 68, even though he dropped out.

The late President Eisenhower died in October, 1962.

You bastard Tongue  (I say that jokingly) I suppose that's an acceptable answer though, even if it makes me grumble.

Anywho, in this case, I'm voting for RFK, for a strong candidate who knows how to get things done.  If he does not win, I wish him as VP.

Anywho, on the off chance RFK wins the nomination, my VP pick is a bit nebulous.  Bayh would be good, because it'd be an interesting diversion from the people that actually ran.  Other than that, I'd be happy with anyone BUT McGovern.  From what I've read of him, the man had little independent thinking capacity.  Yes, his positions were good, but he was a little too "follow the leader" for my tastes.

Oh, and also while I like LBJ, I'm concerned about his health by this point.  If he'd ran and won in 68 IRL, he likely would have died before his term was up.  As it was, it was less than a year (by a large margin) that he died after his term would have been up.

I was referring to how the convention went IRL though.

Imagine the sound of an Indie car going by, but replaced with "DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERP!"  Oh well, I think it'd be pretty safe just throwing Reagan into a run off with the other big candidates.

The fact that it's a tie means there isn't a general will.  Even more so if it's less than a half.  You're pretty quick on the trigger to attribute general will in general (woo tongue twister.. well, almost x.x)

Not like I seriously blame you for it though, as in your place I'd do the same Wink
